Mrs. Rankin will speak on her trip "Around the World on a Freighter." Larry Schade will speak to the group on scouting. Mrs. Carl W. Peterson, president, will conduct a business meeting. Mrs. Erwin C. Hoffman and Mrs. Myrtle Goodin will be hostesses for the afternoon. James Douglas In Play Cast James Douglas, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Brian Douglas, 1028 Murray street, a fresh man student at Lewis and Clark college, Portland, will appear as a deck steward on shipboard in the college Fir Acres theater produclion of "A Majority of One." a re cent Broadway comedy to be presented November 1 through 3. The observance will open at 11 a.m., and luncheon will be serred at 12 noon. The afternoon program will begin at 1:30 p.m., when the featured speaker will be the Rev. Raymond Brandt of Cal vary Lutheran church, Grants Pass. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Greg Mac Doucall. Sewing kits, sarongs and blouses donated by the wo men's groups of the partici pating churches will be dedi cated for their use In South east Asia Minor. A nursery for women who have preschool age children will be available all day at St. Mark's Episcopal guild hall, 212 North Oakdalc av enue. Milk will be provided but the children should have sack lunches. Couple Return From Trip Cave Junction-Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Knight have returned from Cotati, Calif., after spending the week end visit ing their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. An drew Mellow and son, Craig. They traveled by way of High way 101 and reported damage to redwood trees from the Columbus day storm. Marriage R ites Held hi Reese Creek Church Derby - Miss Judy Lee Covey became the bride of Garry Clein Poulton Satur day, October 20 in a 4 o'clock afternoon ceremony held in the Reese Creek Community church. The Rev. Gerald Smith of Medford performed the cere mony in the presence of about SO guests. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alton J. Covev, Oroville, Calif, and the bride groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clein Poulton, Box 177, Butte Falls highway, Eagle Point. Mrs. Peter Webber, Butte Falls was matron of honor, and the bridesmaids were the Misses Joyce Covey, Oro ville, and Connie Poullon, Eagle Point, sisters of the bride and bridegroom. Mr. Webber served as best man, and seating the guests was Neal Ellis, Butte Falls. Miss Pauline Clymcr, Butte Falls, registered the guests. The wedding songs were sung by The Rev. Smith, ac companied by Mrs. Frank Powell at the organ. The church was decorated with baskets of red, pink and white roses. The bride, escorted to the altar and given in marriage by her father wore a floor length gown of white lace over white taffeta designed with full length sleeves and fitted bodice. Her veil was held by a tiara of rhincstoncs, and she carried a bouquet of pink roses and white carna tions. Mrs. Webber wore a beige sheath frock with white ac cessories, and carried a bou quet of pink carnations. The bridesmaids' frocks were blue brocaded sheaths, and their bouquets were of pink car nations. The reception which fol lowed was held in the recep tion room of the church. Mrs. Guy Tcdrick served the cake and presided at the punch bowl. Mrs. Chester Ellis, Butte Falls, poured the cot-tec. For the wedding and re ception the bride's mother wore a white full skirted shan tung frock with white acces sories. The bridegroom's mother wore a cocoa brown suit with white accessories. The bride attended Eagle Point High school and was graduated from Butte Falls High school. The bridegroom graduated from the same school, and is employed by Cascade Wood Products, Inc. The ncwlywcds are making their home at Box 171, Butte Falls highway. Eagle Point. Guild Will Honor Church Teachers St. Mark's Episcopal church school teachers and mothers of the children in the primary department will be honored at a special meeting of St. Catherine's guild Monday, Oc tober 29 at 8 p.m., in the par ish house. Speakers will be Mrs. Leo Hoag and Mrs. Clyde Cham berlain. Each are teachers in the church school. Youth Honor Day Events Set by Lodge Youth Honor day, an an nual event held on Halloween i day, again will be sponsored; ' by the Loyal Order of the Moose and Women of the i Mouse lnrlee nffirer have an nounced. Activities will include a window painting contest, a dance and a kiddies parade. Prizes will be awarded for costumes judged best in dif ferent age groups. Purpose of the day is to interest the youth in activi ties which will be constructive rather than destructive on Halloween. Mrs. Wilfred Huffman, past senior regent of the WOTM, has been honored for her work in the chapter. A new location for the local lodge was discussed during a visit October 20 and 21 of the deputy supreme governor, Joe Cole, when he was hon ored at several activities given by the lodge. DUV ToMeet Women of Elta Deuel Hubbs tent, Daughters of Union Vet erans, will meet for a work day Wednesday, October 31 at 10 a.m., in the .ioine of the president, Mrs. Ruby Mai lory, 207 Cottage street. Members are to take sack lunches. Public Invited To Discussion A meeting for the explana tion of ballot measures to be voted on in the November b' election will be conducted by Medford League of Womci Voters Thursday, November 1 at 7 p.m., in the Public Li. brary of Medford and Jackson county. The session is to be held in the conference room in the basement of the build ing. The meeting is open to the public and league members are anxious to have all inter ested persons attended.
