Uniform Users Warned About Bogus Salesmen Business and professional people in this area who use uniforms have been caution ed by Don McNeil, manager of the Medford Chamber of Commerce, to be on guard against' bogus uniform sales men and the'.r "phony" bar gain offers. According to McNeil, the field has long been plagued with fraudulent operators who accept deposits on the pur chase of uniforms but who never deliver them. The imposters display im pressive looking catalogs and order books and induce sales through "Two - for - One" or other bargain offers, McNeil said. However, since "'.ey are not authorized to represent or to take orders for any uni form company they merely pocket the deposits received and move on to the next town, he added. Victims of these people sometimes wait for weeks be fore they realize they have been duped, McNeil noted. McNeil suggested that local doctors, dentists, nurses, re ceptionists, beauticians and others using uniforms can avoid victimization by avoid ing unknown salesmen, and by dealing only with uniform salesmen of known reliabil ity. If in doubt, they may call the chamber of commerce which, through its member ship affiliation with the Na tional Better Business Bu reau, may assist them in as certaining the reliability of any particular sales person or firm, McNeil said.
