OCTOBER 24. 1362 MEDFORD MAIL TRIBUNE, MEDFORD, OREGON 60 PP&L Crews Now Back in Home Area The more than 60 Pacific I'owcr and Light company line crews and servicemen who were moved from south crn Oregon and the Yreka Calif., area into the Willam ette valley last week to help restore electric power services to the storm battered PP and L system, are back to their regular jobs in the Copco di vision this week, according to local company officials. Pacific Power presi dent Don R. McClung, reported in Portland the men helped re- store services to Cottage Grove, Springfield and Al bany customers several days earlier than would otherwise have been possible. More than 40 of the Copco division workers were from Medford and the remaining 20 or so from Klamath Falls, Grants Pass and Yreka. They were among the 300 Pacific Power workers drawn into the area from the company' operating districts in eastern Oregon and Washington, Mon tana and Wyoming and north em California, Travel Talk Given At VA Domiciliary The second of the winter series of Travel Talks at the Veterans Administration Domiciliary sponsored by the American Red Cross was pre senled Monday by Mrs. Julius Lusky, Central Point. The topic, Panama Canal Zone, is one which the speak er knows well. She lived there for 17 years with her husband, who is now retired from the Merchant Marines, and her two sons. The slides took the audience on a trip through the locks and along the canal showing the methods of moving the ships from one ocean to the other, and Mrs. Lusky re lated Captain Lusky s ex periences in these operations. Members participated In discussions of various tech nical points and observations on the Panamanians, the ani mals and flowers. Cookies and coffee were served. Mrs. Leathn Jones.
