Plan Meeting
At Blind Center
To stress the fraternity's
national project, sight conser
vation and aid to the blind,
Rogue Valley Alumnae chap
ter of Delta Gamma will meet
Wednesday, October 17, at the
Rehabilitation Center for the
Blind, 248 East Stewart ave
nue. Clyde E. Richardson, coun
cilor for the Southwest dis
trict office of the Oregon Di
vision of Vocational Rehabili
tation, will guide the group on
a lour of the center.
Following the tour. Mr.
Richardson will speak of the
needs and services of the cen
ter, and discuss the oppor
tunities for volunteer work
by the sighted.
Volunteer hours of work by
Delta Gamma in the national
project averages more than
28,000 a year, the chapter re
ports. Each year scholarships are
given to orthoptic technicians
and to teachers or consultants
of visually handicapped chil
dren. Each local alumnae and
collegiate group chooses its
own phase of this service in
which to work, assisting nurs
ing schools, sight saving class
es, home teachers, vision
screening programs, aiding in
stitutions, homes, societies,
clinics and hospitals, camps
and rehabilitation centers, and
personal services to individ
uals. The local alumnae group
finances its efforts with funds
from an annual benefit card
party held each January.

served al the Rehabilitation
center after which the women
will adjourn and reconvene
at the home of a member for
