The compromise tax meas ure worked out by House-Senate conferees was passed by voice vote and sent to the House. It would increase from $2,500 to S5.U00 the limit on tax deductible medical ex penses for individuals, and raise the $10,000 limit on married couples filing joint returns to $20,000. It would not change the current provision limiting to tal deductible medical ex penses for persons under 65 to that amount which exceeds 3 per cent of their gross income.
