MEDFORD, OREGON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 7. 1962 Hobo Party Planned By Hornbrook HEC; Will Award Prizes Hornbrook - "Come to a Hobo Party" was the invita tion extended to the commun ity by members of the Home Economic committee of Horn brook Grange. The invitation came as a result of the first meeting of the fall season of the HEC, held October 3, and conducted by the newly elected chairman, Mrs. James fjoan) Riant. Date of the party is Satur day, October 13 at 7 p.m. at the Grange hall. Guests are asked to come in hobo attire only-bring a can of vegetables to be added to the mulligan which will be prepared by members of the HEC-the cans will then be come "dinner plates." A prize will be awarded for the most authentic hobo cos tume. Teenagers are welcome. There will be dancing and community singing, under the leadership of Willis Jones. A donation of 50 cents per person amending will be asked. This will be placed in a Christmas fund to be used for needy children in the com munity. . There will also be a cake sale in connection with the party. Oregon state same commission field agent, Med ford, will speak to members of the Shady Cove Parent Teacher association Tuesday, October 9, at 7:30 p.m., hi the school gymnasium. A brief business meeting also will be conducted. Mothers of seventh and eighth grade students will pro vide refreshments. William Shepherd, principal of the school, has been ap pointed to head plans for a minstrel show to be held dur ing the year as a fund raising event. A meeting of the Mother Singers is planned for Wed nesday, October 10, from 10 to 11 a.m., in the home of Mrs. Richard Gannaway. Rolate bed sheets so they'll get equal wear. Bell, whose wedding was an event of the summer, now are living at 35 Ninth avenue, Apartment 11 in San Mateo, Calif. The bride, the former Miss Joycelin Kay Cameron, a graduate of Crater High school, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Cameron, 111 South Ninth street, Central Point. The bridegroom is a son of Mrs. Phyllis Bell of San Jose, Calif. The bride, who also attend ed Southern Oregon college, is employed in San Mateo as a secretary and the bridegroom, who attended San Jose schools, is employed in the parts department of a San Mateo Ford motor agency. The wedding rites were per formed at 3 o'clock in the aft ernoon, August 11 in a San Jose Catholic church. About 30 guests attended. The bride's parents and her sister, Miss Marylin Fay Cam eron went south for the wed ding. Mr. Bell escorted the bride to the altar and her sis ter was her only attendant. Wean Brocade The bride wore a white bro cade street length frock with jacket trimmed with white fur, which she had made. Her headpiece was a halo hat with veil and 'she carried white carnations centered with a white orchid. Over 230 employees, in cluding their wives or hus bands, met for a social hour which preceded the dinner and program. Frank C. Bash, vice presi dent and assistant treasurer, as well as Copco division manager, was mas-lcr of cer emonies for the program. Paul B. McKee, chairman of the board of the Pacific Power and Light company, when Mrs. Gardner began work with the firm in Janu ary, 1922, was introduced. Factual and humorous inci dents were enacted by the Mcsdames Dorothy Smith, Harriet, Watson, Marina Gardiner, Eloise Winkle bleck, Claudine Gidney; and Harold Gardner, Frank Rush and James Dunlevy. Mr. Bash presented Mrs. Gardner her retirement cer tificate and papers, a PP and L insignia bracelet and five shares of stock, from the com pany. Presented from the employees waa a Green stamp book in which ten dol lar bills had been attached to both sides of each sheet for a travel fund together with an album for mounting pictures from the dinner party.
