Duncan Says Own .
Voice Gets Tiring
Drain - (UPD - Robert B.
Duncan, Democratic candi
diate for Congress in the
Fourth District, said today the
sound of one's own voice can
become very tiresome in a po
litical campaign.
.; At a Duncan day reception
here, he said "The usual
jokes about long winded poli
ticians who become fascinated
.by their own talks have al
:ways puzzled me, because one
of the most difficult phases
of campaigning is hearing my
gelf over and over, day after
'day."
He said a September pri
mary instead of one in May
Would still allow time for a
'discussion .of the issues, and.
"'at less cost and without the
fatigue to which both the can
didates and the long suffering
voters are now subjected."

Calhoun. The theme today
Was "Beat Phoenix Day."
Members of the football
equad, during noon periods,
witnessed movies of 1961
games with Lakeview and
Phoenix. Purpose was to
point out the mistakes and to
motivate corrective measures.
"Early recognition of ill
ness, early diagnosis and treat
ment, modern therapeutic,
mental hospitals, effective fac
ilities for treatment during
convalescence, and public un
derstanding that mental ill
ness is not a hopeless disease,
are basic needs of the mentally
ill," Wilson stated.
The Mental Health associ
ation is one of 30 approved
agencies of the United Cru
sade and is included in its
fund raising campaign now
under way.
The association works
through an educational pro

better services for the emo
tionally and mentally ill in
Oregon. The organization also
