I Police Investigate Two Auto Accidents Two non-injury vehicle ac cidents were investigated by Medford city police Sunday. One driver was cited and another driver is being sought for leaving the scene of an accident. Dennis Vinton Keys, 21, Central Point, was cited for violation of basic rule after the car which he was oper ating collided with a vehicle operated by Robert Lee Smith, 61, Houston, Texas. The accident occurred about 4:13 p.m. on Central ave. be tween Third and Fourth sts. Richard Ralston Kime, 24, of route 4, box 397B, reported to city police that his car col lided with an unknown ve hicle about 6:38 p.m. at Fifth st. and Riverside ave. Kime told officers the other vehicle left the scene without leaving any identification. Mr. Bostwick was a mem ber of the Ashland Elks and a veteran of World War H, serv ing in the Navy. Empire Man, 54, Drowns in Coos Bay By United Press International One man drowned and the body of another drowning vic tim was found Saturday in Oregon. William Webb, 54, Empire, drowned in Coos Bay when he fell off a dock at Charles ton while fishing for crabs. The body of Larry Nice, 21, Eugene, was found on the bank of the northfork of the Willamette river near Eugene. He had been missing since Tuesday. A per mit was issued Monday to Charles Erb to erect a brake shop at 1218 North Court st. at an approximate cost of $21, 600. Trash Fir - City firemen were dispatched about 3:15 a.m. today to put out a trash fire in the 900 block of South Central "ave. They said the blaze apparently was set by transients as a warming fire. Man Is Fined for Fireworks Violation Gold Hill - Raymond Cleve Walters, 19, pleaded guilty to a charge of violation of the Oregon fireworks law Friday in Gold Hill district Justice court and was fined $50 by Judge Norman R. Matteson. A ten day jail sentence was sus pended. The case concerned Walters having fireworks in his pos session Sept. 5 and having furnished fire crackers to three Gold Hill juveniles. The arresting officer was Chief of Police M. W. Young. Judge Matteson said Wal ters, who is in the Navy, ap parently obtained firecrackers while on a visit to Mexico. Smocking Tops! The two boys, aged 17 and 14, disappeared after leaving home to go to a movie Thurs d a y night. Authorities at Needles picked them up Fri day. Ashland police said they understood southern Califor nia relatives of the families will arrange for returning them to Ashland. Bus Driver To Get Driving Award Dale L. Sowers, 114 Sum mit st., will be awarded a gold watch and pin for 10 years of safe driving with Western Greyhound Lines at a coming safety meeting. Sowers joined Greyhound 10 years ago, and has since driven over more than 750,000 miles. During that time he has had no accidents. A shoulder insignia bearing the numeral "10" will be pre sented to Sowers at the safety meeting. The award has been authorized by Stan A. Oss man, director of safety for Greyhound's western division. Area Winners Listed lor State Fair Events Salem -Good Housekeeping trophies were awarded at the Oregon State fair in Salein to 4-H youngsters taking best care of their animals and barn area at the fair. Among the trophies pre sented was the beef trophy, which went to 4-H club mem bers in Jackson county. Other awards at the fair in cluded senior showmanship in Jersey cattle, blue ribbon to Georgia Hubbard, Eagle Point; and a blue ribbon in intermediate Jersey showman ship to Greg Lathrop, Central Point. In the home economics demonstrations Marsha Wil son, Central Point, won a blue ribbon, and Amy Jo Helm, Ashland, and Shirley Schotte, Grants Pass, won red ribbons. Linda Armitage and Mary Ann Gardner, Eagle Point, won a red award for their demonstration in 4-H agricul ture. Hunter Sought In Washington Concrete, Wash.-IUPll-Search was to continue today lor Jim Bullock, 23, Stanwood, a hunt er who fell Sunday off a high cliff on Mt. Blum at the up per end of Baker lake. Bullock was on a goat-hunting trip with three compan ions when he fell off the cliff, about 25 miles north of here, estimated be about . 300 feet high. Search efforts through out the day Sunday produced no sign of Bullock. The search was called off due to darkness and rain and the Whatcom county sheriff's office said 14 men would par ticipate today. Bullock had been hunting with Wayne Hargrave, Jerry Small and Robert Leque, all of the Stanwood area. One of the men stumbled exhausted into the Baker Lake Forest Ranger Station Sunday morn ing to report the accident. All three men helped with the search throughout the day. Traffic Signals Are Installed at Schools Medford public works de partment crews installed traf fic signs around all city schools Saturday in prepara tion for the school year, ac cording to Vernon Thorpe, city public works director. A four-way stop was install ed at Siskiyou blvd. and Mo doc ave., pending installation of a flashing beacon some time ' in the near future, Thorpe said. Testimony made pub lic today by a House appro priations subcommittee show ed there were an estimated 25,000 to 30,000 Cubans in Spain and Latin America.
