Adding Machine Taken- Jack Roland Roper, 2080 Et na rd., Klamath Falls, report ed to Medford police Saturday that an electric adding ma chine, valued at $150 was taken from his car while park ed on Front st. between Cen tral ave. and Eighth st. Gran Fires - Medford and Ashland fire departments each extinguished a grass fire Friday. Medford firemen were summoned about 2:36 p.m. when a match shot from j a youth's pellet gun caused a i fire behind the Thunderbird motel, 945 South Riverside ave. A 30-by-15-foot area burned. Ashland firemen con trolled a grass fire at 11:45 a.m. between Mountain ave. and Beach st. when a trash fire got out of hand. There was little damage. Car Fire Medford fire men were called to a report ed car fire about 5:10 p.m. Friday near 20 South Orange st. The fire was out on ar rival, however. a Restaurant Fires Fires caused minor damage to a restaurant in Medford and one in Ashland Saturday. Fire from a steam table burned a one-foot-square wall area at a cafe at 27 South Central ave., Medford, about 2:18 p.m. Fire from the grill caught in wood work at the Carousel restaur ant, 25 North Main st., Ash land, about 7:14 a.m. There was minor damage to the wall. Asphalt Burns An as phalt kettle being used by men making roof repairs at the Faith Tabernacle, 840 Faith ave., Ashland, ignited Friday afternoon. Mr. Kent was born at Wcl lcn, near Eagle Point on Aug. 25, 1888, living his entire life in Southern Oregon. In Med ford, on Jan. 24, 1920, he was married to Ida M. Houston, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Helen Peeb ler. Medford, Mrs. Charlotte McDonald, Santa Barbara, Calif.; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Roland Smith and Miss Jeanne Kent. Med ford; and a brother, Robert Kent, Redding, Calif. Active bearers will be Harry Connell, Alex Connell, Elmer Harnish, Lincoln Pence, Fred Middlebusher and Al Middlcstadt. Honorary bearers will be from Veterans of World War 1, Barracks No. 540, of which Mr. Kent was a member. DONNIE C. TAYLOR Services for Donnie C. Tay lor, 57, of 4290 Hamrick road, Central Point who died Sat urday, will be held in the Hillcrest Memorial Chapel Monday at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Jack L. Willcuts of the Medford Friends church officiating. Committal will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Conger-Morris is in charge of funeral arrangements. Mr. Taylor was born Aug. 5, 1905 in Bonham, Tex. In Chickasha, Okla., on Aug. 8, 1925, he was manicd to Florence Werner, who sur vives. In 1946 he moved to Prospect, moving to the val ley in 1951, and for the past eight years had made his home on Hamrick Road. Surviving, besides his wife, is his mother, Mrs. A. E. Tay lor, El Reno, Okla.; a sister, Mrs. Luther Robins, El Reno, Okla.; and a brother. Barney D. Taylor, Guthrie, Okla. Casket bearers will be Ralph and Kenneth Snook, Robert Morse, Thomas East man, James Smith, and Ray Shaver. KELVIA TRESSA ASHER Services for Kclvia Tressa Asher, 67, of 750 Oak St., Medford, who died Sept. 6 in Salem, Oregon, will be held at the Conger-Morris down town chapel on Monday at 1:30 p.m., with the Dr. George Roseberry of the First Methodist church offic iating. Interment will be in Ravenna, Nebraska. Mrs. Asher was born Aug ust 27, 1895, in Poole, Ne braska, and had lived in southern Oregon for the past 20 years. She was married January 19, 1916, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to Otis L. Asher, who survives. ELROY HARTH Ashland Services and In terment for Elroy Harth, 51, of 501 Carter lane, Ashland, who died Aug. 14, were held recently in Burnstad, N.D., his former home. The Rev. He had lived in the i Rogue valley for the past 50 , years and had been active as a school teacher and a retail furniture dealer until his re tirement. He was a member of the First Christian church. In Queen City, Mo., in 1922, he was married to Minnie Sax bury, who survives. Other survivors include one daugh ter. Mrs. Gladys Cupp, Cen tral Point: three brothers, Ben Shirley, Florence, Ore.; Ray Shirley, Queen City, Mo.; Paul Shirley, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Mabel Hammond, Kirksville, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.
