OREGON Police Patrol Car Involved in Mishap A Mcdlord city police car was struck in the rear by an other car about 1:55 Wednes day, according to police reports. The car, driven by Officer Donald Marvin Claypool, 26, of 28 North Kceneway dr., was struck by a vehicle oper ated by LeRoy Johnston, 40, of 120 Jeanette St., on West Main st. between Columbus ave. and Chestnut st., officers said. Johnston was cited by po lice for driving under the In fluence of intoxicating bever ages. About 11:40 a.m. Tuesday cars driven by Arthur Wayne Klott, 51, of 204 Medford Heights, and Charles Wesley Koyl, 75, of 1639 Jackson rd., Ashland, collided near Sixth st. and Riverside ave. No in juries were reported, and no citations were issued. Also investigated by police Tuesday was an accident on Jackson st. between Haw thorne and Genessee sts. Cars operated by Denise Cornelius Armstrong, 18, of 507 Marie st., and Enid Mary Rankin, 72, of 18 Richmond ave., were in volved. No citations were given, and neither driver re ported injuries. A Washington man was In volved in a collision Tuesday at about 4 p.m. in front of 701 North Central ave. David Gary Steincr, 24, of Spokane, Wash., and Theodore Dean Mathews, 35, of 283 Berrydale ave., were drivers of cars in volved In the accident. No ci tations were issued. Kansas Professor Visits in Medford Dr. and Mrs. Henry S. Fitch, and their children, Law rence, Kans., have been visit ing recently with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Fitch, route 4, box 467, Medford. Dr. Fitch, professor of ecol ogy at the University of Kan sas, and a well known hcrpe tologist, Monday presented a paper on the ecology of the common blue racer at Corval- lis, where the joint meeting of the American Institute of Biological Sciences and the western division of the Amer ican Association for the Ad vancement of Science is now in spsion, RETAINS PARKING SPACE Washington - IIINI - Wil liam T.
