Sunday Topics Told By Local Churches "What Shall I Give in Ex change for My Soul?" is the subject of the sermon to be delivered by Dr. D. Kirkland West at the First Presbyterian church Sunday. The quartet, composed of Mrs. Charles Champlin, soprano. Miss Diana Hunter, messo soprano, Paul Moore, tenor and Lynn Sjolund, bass, will sing, "In cline Thine Ear, O Lord." An organ solo will be played by Greg Smith, a member of Junior High fellowship. His selection will be Pastorale by Bach. Romney and Walter Slover will preside over meetings during a quar terly conference of the Klam ath stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be held in the Med ford High school auditorium Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Romney Is a member of the Council of Twelve Apostles, and Mr. Stover is a member of the general wel-, fare staff of the church. Both are from Salt Lake City, Utah. Advent Christians Set Sunday Service The morning worship serv ice of the First Advent Christ inn church will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday morning with the pastor, the Rev. Fred O. Sapp Jr., speaking. Sunday school classes for all ages will begin at 9 45 a.m. A nursery will be pro vided for those under three years of age. The pastor and family re cently returned from the an nual camp meeting of the Willamette Valley Advent Christian conference. Brown recently assumed duties as minister of Chris tian Education at First Pres byterian church. Mr. Brown, who is the son of a minister, came from Lakeside Presby terian church in San Fran cisco. He attended the Uni versity of Southern California and McCormick Theological seminary in Chicago. He has served with Chicago, Los An geles, and West Covina, Calif., churches, and was ordained in Flagstaff, Ariz., in 1957. The Browns live at 1219 Soutli Peach si. Pastor To Teach At Nazarene The annual youth camp and Institute of the Oregon Pa cific district Church of the Nazarine will be held next week at the Clackamas camp ground. The Rev. Harold M. Sermon topic for the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday will be the second of the series on Ephesians, "Spiritual Bless ings in Christ." Christian Science Lesson Topic Told All things are possible to God, divine mind. This will be a theme of the lesson-sermon entitled "Mind'' to be , heard at Church of Christ, Scientist, 100 Windsor ave., Sunday at 11 a.m. Luke's account of the heal ing of the palsied man by Christ Jesus will be presented In the readings from the Bible. DIRECTOR Fred Sanborn, director of the Teen World Singers, is a graduate of the Weslniont college depart ment of music, and has at tended the Fred Waring music workshop for two seasons. George Mil ton Shuman, pastor-elect of El Paso Youth To Be Sunday Guests Of Local Church Eighty young people from Asbury Methodist church in El Paso, Texas, will be guests of First Methodist Church Sunday evening. They will ar rive in the afternoon, be greeted by the college and high school age groups, share in a supper at 6 p.m. and worship with these groups at the church. The Texans are on their way to the World's Fair In Seattle. The Rev. Gerald C. Nelson will speak on "A Living En counter . . ." at the 9:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday services. The youth choir will sing "O Saviour, Hear Me" at the early service and Mr. Larry Hobson will sing "Now Thank We All Our God" at the 11 a.m. service. The Senior High Method ist Youth fellowship will par ticipate in the program for the young people from El Paso, Texas. Zion Lutheran Sets Weekly Ativities The morning worship serv ice at Zion Lutheran church, Fourth st. and Oakdale ave., at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, will hear the Rev. Harvey C. Mrs. August Henning To Attend Conference Mrs. August Henning will represent St. Peter's Lutheran church at a board meeting and training session of the Oregon district, Lutheran Women's Missionary league, to be held in Portland Aug. 28 and 29. Plans will be formulated at the meeting for the con tinuing program of the dis trict for the coming year. 'Saved By Grace' Is G. O. Skaar's Topic The Rev. G. O. Skaar, pas tor of First Southern Baptist church, will preach Sunday after an absence of two weeks. The topic for his j sermon will be "Saved By Grace." ! Farewell Planned for Friends Pastor, Family A farewell service will be held at the Friends church Sunday at 7:30 p.m. for Pastor Clynton Crisman and his family who will leave Monday for their new home in Newberg. Following the service a reception in the fel lowship hall will honor the Crismans. At the 11 a.m. worship service Mr. Crisman will give his farewell message. While living in Medford he has been active in the Med ford Ministerial association 1 SVfc LOUIS NEELY Guest Evangelist Guest Speaker Set At Bethel Assembly Evangelist Louis Neely of Midland,' Texas, will conduct revival services at Bethel As sembly of God church until Sept. 2. In addition to his evangelistic work, Mr. Neely has spoken at youth camps and conventions. At the 11 a.m. worship ser vice Sunday, Mr. Neely will speak on the subject, "The Compassionate Christ."
