Jen nings overcame Butte Falls Art Perkins Spurs Ram Triumph Los Angeles-tUPll-It appears the Los Angeles Rams have found a fullback. The football player in ques tion is rookie Art Perkins who put smiles on the perenially tear-stained faces of Ram sup porters by bringing back the bulldozing days of the likes of Deacon Dan Towler and Tank Younger in the Rams' 33-24 victory over the Minne sota Vikings in Portland, Ore., Saturday night. The 230 - pound neophyte made like a seasoned veteran against the Vikings as he crunched his way for 104 yards in 19 attempts. Field Day And with Perkins rumbling up the middle, quarterback Zeke Bratkowski had a field day through the air lanes. On the second play of the game, he hit Carroll Dale for an 81 yard scoring junket. Later Bratkowski found Red Phil lips by his lonesome and pin pointed the National Football league's leading receiver who scampered 50 yards for anoth er score. The Rams also generated a powerful defensive surge, led by David Deacon Jones, which held the Vikings to a minus 3 yards in the first half. Minnesota's lone bright spot was a startling 75-yard punt return by Bob Reed which gave the Vikings a brief 14-7 lead. But the Rams began to roll and combined Phillips' scoring catch with a short plunge by Perkins for a 21-14 lead, and never again were headed.
