tablespoon prepared mustard
and one-fourth teaspoon curry
powder (optional): mix lightly.

Cornl Sauce. Blend one-half
cup chill sauce, one-half cup
mayonnaise, salad dressing or
dairy sour cream and two
tablespoons horseradish;

Frosting. To make this Ideal
for carrying, keep it right in
the baking pan. Creamy frost-
ings stay rather soft, so if this
needs a touch-up, it can easily
be done with a table knife or
spatula.
Mix-Easy Devil's Food
2 cups sifted cake flour
I teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 13 cups sugar
j cup shortening
Milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs, unbeaten
3 squares unsweetened
chocolate, melted
With vegetable shortening,
use one cup milk. With butter
margarine, use one cup
minus two tablespoons milk.
Measure sifted flour into
sifter; arid soda, salt and
sugar. Stir shortening Just to
soften. Sift in dry ingredients.
Arid three-fourth cup of the
milk and mix until all flour Is
dampened. Then beat two
minutes at a low speed of elec
tric mixer or 300 vigorous
strokes by hand. Add vanilla,
eggs, melted chocolate and re
maining milk and beat one
minute longer in mixer or
150 strokes by hand.
Pour baiter Into 1.1 x 9 x 2
inch pan, lined on bottom with
paper. Bake in moderate oven,
350 degrees, about 40 minutes.
Frost as indicated below.
Or you may pour batter
into two round nine-inch lay
er pans and bake in modern IP
oven. 350 degrees, for 30
minutes. For cupcakes, spoon
batter into muflin pans,
greased well on bottoms, fill
ing cups half full. Bake in
moderate oven. ;t75 degrees
about 20 minulcs; for 18 cup
