A. Eden, was held at Girls Community club due to the unseasonal rains. Bridge Winners Are Announced Forty-six players competed in the Bear Creek Bridge club monthly master point play August 9. Winning first place in the north-south posi tion were G. W. Rode and R. H. Finnell who scored 137 points. In second place were Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Clark, 133; third. Mrs. George B. Dean and Mrs. R. T. Jones, l3Vi; fourth, Dr. and Mrs. C. M. Durland, Grants Pass, 127'a. In east-west position the the winners were, first, Mrs. J. J. Dougherty and Roy Pruitt, 135; second, Mrs. Jack Mitchell and Ralph Mecgan. 134 points; third, Mr. and Mrs. Paul McDuffee, 129; and fourth, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Wolke, 114. Present were Mrs. Virgil Baldwin and the couple's daughlers, Karon and Virgie, Mrs. Ruth Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Bilderback and daughter, Melody, Mr and Mrs. Lewis Marshall, Jan and Larry, Bryan Marshall, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mar shall and sons Ray Allen and Sheldon. The honored guest was pre sented cards and gifts from those attending. Mrs. Baldwin baked and decorated the birthday cake. She was assisted with the serving by Mrs. Bilderback. Mrs. Oscar Rasmusscn and Mrs. Herbert W. Rowe were winners at bridge. Mrs. Ro land Howard and Mrs. Han nah Cyprus won at pinochle, and Mrs. Clifford Reares and Mrs. Henry Robertson were canasta winners. Mrs. Ethan Fordyce won the special prize. Sojourners is open to all women who have lived in the Medford vicinity for less than two years. In California Illinois Valley Gary and Carina Varner, children of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lewis, are in Lolela, Calif., visiting their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Willis. Box 225, Eagle Point. The bride chose a while brocaded silk and rayon sheath dress which she wore with a fingertip length lace veil held by a lace headdress. Her accessories were white land her corsage was a laven Ider orchid. j Mrs. James L. Miller, a sis i ter-in-law of the bridegroom, of Dallas, Ore., was matron of honor. She wore a white brocaded cotton sheath dress with white accessories and her corsage was of white car nations. Mr. Shepherd was best man for his brother. The double ring ceremony was performed before a floral cross. Cody Fincher carried the rings and Lila Fern Chastain was flower girl. The flower girl's frock was of peach trimmed bandeau. The reception also was held in the gardens. Mrs. Da vid Kelsoe cut and served the wedding cake after the bride and bridegroom had cut the first piece. Punch was served by Robert and James Shep herd, brothers of the bride groom. Mrs. Miller took charge of the bride's book. The bride attended Phoenix and Medford schools and for the past two years has been employed in Medford as a typist. The bridegroom attended Hilt, Calif., and Talent Ele mentary schools. Phoenix High school, and was graduat I ed from Eagle Point High school In 1957. He has served four years with the Air Force and is employed at Fir Ply Inc., White City. The couple will live at 1315 Locust street in Medford. Guests Ashland - Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Ramsey, 291 Wimer street, have as guests their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Moore and daughter Ann from Ross, Calif. v ' Mix I A A Ashland Couple Visit In East Ashland - Mr. and Mrs. Da vid W. Deller. Coleman Creek road, whe are teachers in the Ashland schools, returned Wednesday from a five-week motor trip to the east coast. They followed the Lewis and Clark trail and during their travels visited such his toric spots as Williamsburg, jYorktown, Jamestown, Mon Uicello and Mt. Vernon. They spent some time in Boston and Washington and visited relatives in Virginia. In Seattle they were joined 'by Mrs. Deller's mother, Mrs. Thelma Fox of Hollywood, Calif., who returned homa I with them after seeing the fair.
