The pic nic will begin at 10 a.m., and a potluck dinner will be serv ed at noon. Hopper Ignites - C . n t r al Point rural firemen were call ed to Delali Timber company at lO.uo a.m. today. A hopper had ignited from radiant heal from the mill burner and fire extended into sawdust. . Motel Fire - A chair, floor, wall and ceiling were dam aged by fire early this morn ing in the office at the Nine ty Nine motel, 816 Riverside ave., firemen reported. They said that a chair had been placed over a gas floor fur nace and ignited. Consider able smoke damage was re ported. Firemen were sum moned about 3:20 a.m. Cited Ross Andrew Chia 'aras, 18, of Azalea, Ore., was cited by Ashland police Jor failure to yield right-of-way, following an accident in Ashland Tuesday al 7:30 p.m. Cars driven by Chiavaras and Homer Ralph Buckles, 52, of Portland, collided at Siskiyou blvd. and Indiana ave., ac cording to police. Chiavaras is scheduled to appear in Ashland Municipal court Fri day. Assume Names - Diane Claibourn of Grants Pass has assumed the business name Jackie's Donut and Mall Shop, according to the coun ty recorder's office. The meeting was called to order by our vice-president, John Fleisch er. We dispensed with the minutes of the last meeting. Under business we fixed our bug boxes and checked the project books. We talked about our conservation boards and fair exhibits. We adjourned the meeting and had a practice flower ar rangement contest. Mrs. L. C. Gordon judged them and the placings were Cathy Anhorn, blue; James Anhorn, red and John Fleischer, white. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Anhorn. Cathy Anhorn Reporter Cudchewers The Central Point Cud chewers 4-H club held their August meeting recently at Mrs. Anhorn's home. Before the meeting we discussed fair our animals, barn duty, behavior and appearance. The meeting was called to or der by Cathy Leglcr, presi dent. The minutes were read and roll called.
