Meet Miss Somebody from Mississippi Family Weekly's latest "unknown' cover girl is beautiful Patricia Ann Stewart of Biloxi ....... .jLi...-,.-.i w-.j ...... PATRICIA ANN STEWART, & bright, ebullient 16-year-old of Biloxi, Miss., is the most trav eled Miss Somebody I have met. And one of the most interesting. Born in Hot Springs, Ark., she has lived in more than half a dozen states including Colorado, Louisiana, Alabama, Maryland, Texas, California, Oregon, and Mississippi. Her father, Maj. Luie Dale Stewart, is the one who keeps the family on the move. An Air Force oral surgeon, Major Stewart takes the family wherever his military assignments take him. Patricia has mixed feelings about her frequent moves. "Pulling up roots every couple of years gets harder as you get older," she says, "but the excitement of new places almost compensates for it." Pat leads a bustling social life ("but no 'steady' yet"), loves to sing in groups and play the piano, collects dolls in all sizes and shapes, enjoys doing the Twist, and ' plays chess like a champion. A straight-" A" student at Biloxi High School, she achieved a "plum" this past year when she won membership on the Pep Squad, a 25-girl drill-cheerleading team chosen from the entire student body. But her consuming interest at present is art, and she has won high honors for her work in school competitions. Pat is the oldest of four children, "all delightfully different," she says proudly. One brother, Mike, is 10; he plays Little League baseball and studies the French horn. Ricky, 8, plays baseball and studies the piano, and Katherine, 4, takes ballet. Major and Mrs. Stewart are modern parents who believe in old-fashioned discipline. And Patricia toes the mark. She observes midnight curfew for weekend dates, keeps her room straight and clothes neat, and packs her own school lunch. She has tried her hand at cooking, but the results usually have been "disastrous," Pat confesses. Once, she became engrossed in a novel, and the spaghetti burned. An other time she caught her hand in the electric mixer and had to be extricated. Most recently, Patricia covered a pan which held a roast, and the pan caught fire! It took professional cleaners to get the mess off the kitchen ceiling and walls. The family lives on the Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, in a modern, air conditioned, red-brick house with a white tile roof. The house faces the back-bay area, which gives the outdoor-loving Stewarts easy access to the beach. Patricia hasn't decided on her future yet: she would like to study art, but then she also would like to marry and have four children. Whichever she chooses, her grace, intelligence, and beauty almost guarantee her a bright, bubbly future, The family are steady churchgoers: Mom (IclJ, Ricky, Kalhy, Miko, Pal, and Dad. i Fomilw Wklv.
