Lorln Jacobs Saturday, June 23 she carried an heirloom book that had been carried by her great grandmother, Miss Ann Willis, on her wedding day December 7, 1867, when she became the bride of George Lawrence-. The book contain the Presbyterian church marriage ritual. The bride Is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milan L. Jacobs and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Don L. Jacobs, Route 4, Box 350, Medford. ' The Rev. John Reynolds performed the ceremony in Westminster P r e s b yterian church in the presence of about 125 guests. - Miss Deanna Cook. Coquille. D, Lorin Jacobs (Brainerd photo) Anderson-Bennett Rites Held at Central Church An event of June 2fl was the wedding of Miss Linda Lorene Bennett and William Ray Anderson. The bride is ii daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl L. Bennett, 73 Clover lane, and parents of the bride groom are Mrs. Ila Anderson, 1721 West Eleventh street, and Ray Anderson, 844 Da kota avenue. John V. Hcbcrling perform ed the 8 o'clock evening cere mony. The double ring rites were held in the Cenlrnl Church of Christ. About 1R0 gucsla attended. Mrs. Clarence fierce was soloist, and Mrs. Jamrs John son played the wedding mu sic. Given in marriage by her lather, the bride wore a floor- ins of the bride, were flower girl and ring bearer. Mr. Grch, Corvallis, and James M. Nipps sealed the guests. Blue delphinium, white Japane.se iris, and while Ester Reed daisies decorated Ihe church for the wedding. Decorations were arranged by Mrs. Otto Bohnert and Mrs. James Cornutt. For Ihe ceremony and the reception that followed Mrs. Bennett chose a white suit worn wiln drop pink acces sories and a enrsngo ot deep pink rosebuds. Mrs. Anderson wore a light green suit and white accessories, with a white carnation corsage. The reception was held In the church hall, which was Laura, Betsy and Amy Byers. Brother Best Man Don W. Jacobs, a brother of the bridegroom was best man, and Gordon McVay, Donald Rasmussen and Jean Skirvon were ushers. The bride was given In marriage by her father. Her floor length gown of peau de sole was trimmed with ap- pliqued lace and was In a sheath design with fullness of the same material attached to the waist at the back. Her bolero was of lace and her elbow length veil was held by a net bow. With the heirloom wedding book the bride carried cym- bidium orchids and a cascade of stephanotis. Miss Cook wore a turquoise colored frock of peau de soie similar to the bride's gown and trimmed with a self ma terial bow and worn with a matching headpiece. She car ried a nosegay of Ester Reed daisies dyed to match her frock. Dresses Match The junior bridesmaids wore matching dresses in tan gerine taffeta with full skirts, fitted bolices and oversklrts of eyelet embroidered organ dy. Their headdresses were of matching tangerine taffeta, and their nosegays of Ester Reed raisies also matched their dresses. The church was decorated with white gladiolus and col ored majestic daisies. The bride's mother wore a chartreuse colored silk sheath dress with matching hat and beige accessories. The bride groom's mother chose a beige sheath dress with matching PTessones and both mothers had corsages of cymbidium or. chids. The reception was held in the church rooms. Arrange ments of while petunias and candelabra decorated the re ception table. Women of the church were in charge of the reception and the serving. Mrs. Patricia Kellington took charge of the guest book, Mrs. Joseph Beach served coffee and Mrs. Josephine Wing, Santa Clara, Calif., the length gown fashioned with I decorated by Mrs. Ira Copley Chantilly lace over taffeta bodice and taffeta skirt. Her fingertip length veil was held by a pearl tiara, and she car ried a bouquet of pink rose buds and carnations, stepha notis, and baby's brealh. Mrs. John H. Grcb, Corval lis, was matron of honor for her sister. Mrs. James Prock, sister of the bridegroom, serv ed as bridesmatron, while Miss Linda Aubrey, Central Point, was bridesmaid. They wore white brocade sheath frocks with blue chiffon over skirts. Their headdresses were white with short veils, and they carried pink carnations and rosebuds. Junior attendants were Miss Vlcki Bennelt, sister of the bride, and Douglas Ben nett, the bride's cousin. Miss Barbara Bennett, another sis ter, and Miss Deborah Board man lighted the candles. Little Brenda Curhs and Johnny llaglrr, Phoenix, cons- with while candles, pink and while daisies, fori blue rib bon streamers. Mrs. Budd Milchel and Mrs. Glen Bennett, aunt , of the bride, cut and served the wedding cake. Mrs. Kathryn South and Mrs. Glen Kauf man, also an aunt of the bride, presided at the punch bowl. Miss Diana Schultz was in charge of the guest book. The Misses Penne Mundlin, Klamath Falls, Judo Frlnk, Ruth llenney, and llene Milchel were at the gift table. For traveling lo the const the bride chose a blue suit with white accessories and a corsage of pink carnations. On their return tile newlywrd couple will make (heir home at 1222 West Main street, Apartment 3. The bride is a student at Medford High school. Mr. An derson, a graduate of Med ford High school, is employed by Timber Products comnanv. punch. Mn. John Mills, Cen tral Point, cut the wedding cake. To Canada For their wedding trip the couple traveled to Victoria, B.C., Canada, and the Seattle World's Fair, the bride wear ing a black and white striped suit. They will live at 227 South Ivy street, Apartment C. The bride is a graduate of Medford High school and at tended Robertson School of Business. She is employed by E. L. Harlow, M.D., as a med ical assistant. The bridegroom is also a Medford High school graduate and he attended the Univer sity of Oregon. He is employ ed by the firm of Payne and Struble as an architect. Parlits Given On June 19 Mr. and Mrs Milan L. Jacobs entertained the parents of the bridegroom and other relatives at a cof fee hour. A number of friends also called during the event. On June 20 the bride's mother gave a trousseau tea for friends of the bride. The tea table was decorated with roses and sweet peas with Ester Reed daisies arranged In a silver bowl. About 30 per sons attended. Also on June 20 a miscel laneous shower was given by Mrs. Patricia Kellington and Miss Robin Wyatt, cohostes esses, at the home of Mrs. Thomas Boyd, 2140 Harrison street. The rehearsal dinner was given at the home of the bride's parents. Assisting were Mrs. Joseph Beach and Mrs. Wing. The table was decorat ed with roses, orange blos soms and Ester Reed daisies with juniper fern. Wesley Turner officiated at Ihe three o'clock afternoon rites held at the Newman Methndist church, Grants Pass. Baske' of dais ies decorated the church for the double ring ce'cmony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of while silk or ganza fashioned with scallop ed neckline, fitted bodice, long sleeves and gored skirt. The neckline was accented with a band of lace embroid ered with sequins. Her finger- tip Ic'imth tulle ' ell was held by a floral headdress centered with a large while rose and she carried a bouquet of white rose. The bride also carried a lace handkerchief which had been carried by her maternal grandmother, Mrs. L y d I a Lines. Redlands, Calif , at her wedding. Alterant Listed Miss Helen Haugcn was maid of honor. She wore a mint green laffela frock with a while floral headdress and carried a mv-egay of pink daisies. I niece of Ihe hridegroom, was flower girl. She wore a white organza frock with pink sash, a pink floral crown, and car ried a basket of pink rose pe tals. Allan Poole, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. Scaling the guests were Bill and Francis Poole, also brothers of the bridegroom. For her daughter's mar riage and the reception which followed at the church, Mrs. Martin chose a green flower ed nylon dress. Mrs. Poole wore a brown nylon eyelet dress. Their corsages were white carnations. Miss Donna Gardnrr wes organist. Miss Judy Thompson cut and served the wedding cake and Miss Beverly Allison tire sided at the punch bowl. Mrs. William Poole poured coffee and Miss .lenne Allison was in charge of the guest book. Miss Judv Gates was at the gift table.' For traveling the Representative At Convention Of Service Club Ashland - Mrs. Mabel W. Winston, president of Sorop timist club, will represent the Ashland service group at the biennial convention of Sorop timist Federation of the Amer icas July 8 to 13 in San Fran cisco. Other members expect to attend some of the sessions. Pre-convention activities be gan July 6 with vesper service in Grace cathedral and a buf fet supper during the evening The keynote address at the opening session will be given by the radio and television commentator Pauline Fred erick speaking on the subject "New Dimensions in World Affairs." Gov. Edmund G. Brown and San Francisco Mayor George Christopher are to extend greetings to the expected 2,000 Soroptimist delegates. The Ashland club is In re cess during July, but will op erate its pillow and blanket concession at the Shakespear ean Festival theater beginning July 21. Family Reunion Honors Woman On 80th Birthday Talent-Mrs. Myrtle Jacobs, Talent, was honored July 4 at- a family reunion on the occasion of her 80th birthday. Thirty relatives attended the reception held at the home of a daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Withrow, Talent. All six of Mrs. Jacobs' chil dren attended. They are Mrs. Withrow; Bill and Leo Jacobs and Mrs. Pauline Allen, all Medford; Harold Jacobs, Ash land, and Mrs. Wiloby Con ner, Merrill. Others attending included Mr. Withrow, Mrs. Bill Jac obs, Mrs. Leo Jacobs and Sharon Ann, Bill and Teresa Allen. Onlv two of Mrs. Jacobs' grandchildren were not pres-i ent for the event. They were Michael Jacobs, who is serv ing with the U. S. Army in Korea, and James Allen, who is in California. Also honored were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Allen who were married June 13 In Carson City, Nevada, Mrs. Allen is the former Mary Campbell, daughter ot Mr. and Mrs. Walter Campbell. Ashland. Mr. Allen's parents are Mrs. Pauline Allen, 935 Murray avenue. Medford, and James Allen, Sacramento, Calif. Daughrer-in-Law i Guest of Nyes Mrs. Stephen A. Nye was a recent guest in ihe home of Mr. and Mrs. Stephe G. Nye, Phoenix-Hillcrcst road, her husband's parents. The visitor and her husband arrived in California earlier this summer from Cambridge, Mass., where Mr. Nye was graduated in June from the law school of Harvard university. They are living in Sausalitn. The young lawyer has ac cepted a position on the staff of Pillsbury, Madison and Su Iro, San Francisco law firm. Central Point Group Will Hear Missionary Central Point -- The Wom en's Missionary society of the Community Bible church. Fourth and Aider streets. Cen tral Point, will hear a talk by the Rev. Don Brurk of the Japan Evangelical mission during a meeting Friday, July 13 at 7:45 p.m., in the Fellow ship hall. The meeting will be open to the public and anyone in terested is invited. Couple to Convert Ranch Into Camp plan to convert the ranch into a summer camp for city chil- Hornbrook - Guests at me home of Mrs. Mildred Wiley this past week have been a niece and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Mehl and son Bil ly, of Scio, Ore., who were en route to San Francisco and Monterey. Calif., arrived Thursday for a week's visit with their sons and their families, Mr. and Mrs. James Riant and David and Joanie, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Philps and Bobby and Paul. On leaving here, the Gowans plan to attend tim World's Fair in Seattle, and to visit in Yakima, Wash., before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. Jack La Esp Supper Honors Couple Following Rites at Reno Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lee' Esp were honored at a wedding supper given by their parents at Holiday inn following the marriage of the couple June 24 in Reno, Nev. Esp, 889 Olympic avenue, Medford. The wedding ceremony was held in the Overland Wedding chapel, Reno, at 9 o clock in the evening and was perform ed by the Rev. Edna Trim-bell. Mrs. Norman Hooper, Med ford, a sister-in-'-w of the bridegroom, was the honor at tendant and Mr. Hooper was best man. The bride, siven in mar riage by her father, wore a white cotton sheath dress de signed with sabrina neckline and appliqucd with imported Viennese lace. Her accessories and hat were white and the bridal bouquet was of ste phanotis and lily of the val ley centered with a white or chid encircled with frill of lace to match the bride's dress. j The matron of honor wore 1 an apricot silk frock with ruf-! fled cape collar and matching j accessories.
