morrow night in McLoughlin

Mr. Thompson, speaker for
the group, was graduated
from the Reformed Episcopal
seminary, Philadelphia and
serves as an English teacher
in the Bible School depart
ment. The learn includes a
male quartet and pianist.
Prairie Bible institute is
primarily a training institute
for missionaries, pastors, and
Christian workers. The total
high school and Bible school
student body now numbers
about 1000. Nearly 1200 form
er students arc now serving
as missionaries on foreign
soil, while hundreds of others
are engaged in pastoral and
other Christian services in the
United States and Canada.
The principal of the insti
tute, L. E. Maxwell, is known
as a Bible teacher, editor and
author.

plan the 14th annual Town
and Country Church confer
ence at Oregon State univer
sity Aug. 6 through 10 by
serving on the planning com
mittee, according to the Rev.
Kenneth C. Larson, Corvallis,
chairman.
The committee has planned
a completely "new look" for
this year's conference, with
the emphasis on continuing
education for the clergy,
church and community lead
ers and others interested in
the town and country church,
Mr. Larson said.
The program will center
around basic courses In com
munications, changes in Ore
gon agriculture and forestry
and the implications of com
munity change.
In addition, general sessions
are planned each day on such
subjects as the changing con
cept of the family farm, rural
areas development, resources
of the land grant institution,
family income management,
community action through
farm and home organizations
and music. Several elective
classes will also be offered
each day.
Housing Arrangements
Housing and meals will be
provided on the OSU campus
with special arrangements be
ing made for family groups.
A Corvallis church will pro-
vide nursery and child care
at cost during conference ses
sions. The conference is planned
and sponsored by representa
tives of the Archdiocese of
Portland in Oregon, state and
local church women's associa
tions, denominational repre
sentatives, Oregon Council of
