If he would avoid that emp

he must train himself to make

Being terribly near-sighted,

few inches of his face. He may
be able to hear it coming -at

Brian V. I'm In the sixth
grade and we're in the middle
of final exams right now. Last
week I got only 65 in a lest
on South America and my
best friend, Steve, got BO. But
he cheated. He used a "gyp
iheet" that was being paseed
around and added to It him-
e.lf. Some of the kids who
fcot high marks had even writ-

fingers ahead of time, things

I take the arithmetic final.
Mrs. B.V. We have always
taught Brian to he honest.
Now that he's faced with
temptation, now that he sees
dishonesty go unpunished, he ;
very upset. And because nf
the teacher's laziness, I'm hav
ing a very hard time explain
ing to Brian why he should
stay on the side of rectitude
no matter what. It's not only
unfair, it's criminal that
iiar like Steve will graduate
with all kinds of honors when
he'a the most "dishonorable
boy I know.
While I reiterate to Brian
that we won't worry about
his marks, so long as he hones
up on his notes and knows
his stuff, I'm templed to gf
to school and report this ex
amination farce to the prin
atudied last week and I'll bet
I know more about South
America than Steve does. But
it won't show on my report
card. I've told my parents that
I can get 90s if I act like
exaggerating and I'll only
make 'unnecessary trouble.
But I want Brian to get a
fair deal.

Ashland-' Shakespeare Un

an article in the June 28 is- j
