Collins splatted 7S straight in the extra and Leon ard, McMinnville, downed 74 for runnerup. Miller fell out with 24 and John Simpson with 23 on tthe first 25 in the shootoff. Frank Simpson bowed out with 23 on the sec-1 ler and Collins knotted with ond 25. . Richard Hornby, Vancouv. er, B.C., also chalked up a 198 in singles. He took the out-of- state trophy and was not eli sible r for an Oregon state crown. The handicap saw Chuck Skeeters, 13-year-old Medford gunner, win a shootoff for third place. He and Gordon Gilkerson, Hood River, each clipped 96 in the regular. Skeeters won the extra 24 to 23. . Harvey Fisher, Portland was professional winner in the singles with 198 and J. W. Kennedy. Portland, was second pro with 189. High lady was Miss Janet Hurd, Eugene, with 189. She was trailed by Mrs. Corrine Blake, Portland, who had 183. High shooter 65-70 years of age was John Hurd, Eugene, with 190. W. H. Blake, Port land, broke 193 for the over 70 years of age trophy. Mike Park, Estacada, was high jun ior Saturday with 94 and Mi chael Yunker, Forest Grove, runnerup with 92. Skeeters took subjunior with 89 and Mike Drake, Gold Hill, fol lowed with 86. , George Sherwood, Rose burg, and John Simpson, tied for Class A honors in doubles with 90 out of 100 each. Mil 92s in Class A. Shootoffs are scheduled today for class win ner and runnerup awards. Pete Schmitz Jr., Eugene, took Class C doubles with a 91. Jack Roberts, Portland, was runnerup by default. He broke 88 birds along with Bill Bryant, Ashland, and M. L. Hunt, Bend. Class D tro phy went to Al Baker, Eu gene, with an 88-bird count. George Voytilla, Winston, was next with 85. Hornby was high man from out-of-state with 92. There were 135 participants in Saturday 16-yard shooting and 148 in the handicap. Seventy-three scattergunners en tered the doubles. John Lichtenstern, Klam ath Falls, was the only shoot er other than Collins to break 100 straight on Saturday. High Scorers Among the two-day high scorers in singles were Gil kerson, W. E. Fisher, Pacific City, and A. R. Alexander, Roseburg, with 197s and Schmitz, Martin Clog.ston, Medford, and Elliott and Ross Langlitz, Portland, with 196s. In the handicap yesterday seven entrants trailed the top four with 94s. They were Schmitz, Clogston, Miller, Jimmy Hunter Jr., Reno; John Syme, Hood River; Ken Gilkeson, Roseburg, and A. E. Mansfield, Ashland. , Irwin Crume, Sprague Riv er, was among top double shooters with a 90. O. S. Ballew, Lebanon, Harry Patton, Portland, and John Hurd, Eugene, were named directors of the Oregon State Trapshooting associa tion at a Saturday morning meeting. Ballew and Patton were re-elected. Officers of the board were to be named to day. Annual meeting of the association was moved from Friday night to Saturday be cause of the inability of some men to attend on Friday. 1 4 1 DRAG ENTRY One of the top local en tries in today's drag races being held at the White City drag strip is the Bmodified roadster from the racing team of Thomp son and McClurg. This sleek Crevrolet powered roadster turned a top time of 111.52 yesterday and set a new record for this class during the afternoon action. The two-day meet continues today with over 250 entries expected to be in the conten tion for nearly $1,000 in cash awards and trophies. Cheney tabulated in the seventh to spoil a shutout opportunity for Young. Medford's Miles got two of the four hits given up by CP's Larry Pepper, who al lowed three bases on balls and whiffed batters six times. Barnes tripled for the Cokes and Calhoun singled. Mike Glines and Jeff Anhorn sin gled for the Studs. It was another well-plaved contest for both teams. Bob Schroeder drew a walk leading for Medjord in the third frame. Young bunted and both Cokes were sofe on pitcher Pepper's fielder's op tion attempt to nail the lead runner. Miles singled home Schdoeder. Deffley flied to left field and Young ran home after the catch but Central Point recorded a double play, for Miles was out al third on a throw in from lcftfielder Dave Twedell. Scor in Sixth In the sixth inning Mike Neathamer walked for Med ford. Gary Miller's grounder to pitcher forced Neathamer at second base. Miller moved to second on a wild pitch and to third on Don Anderson's groundout. Calhoun singled and Barnes hit his three baser to bring home the runs. Anhorn started out the top of the seventh panel with a single. He advanced to second on a wild pitch and went to third base on John Weiser's groundout. Willie Jones walk ed and Anhorn came on Paul Bransom's fielder's choice rap. Medford tried for the double play on the swat. Jones was forced for the sec ond out of the inning but Dan Miles hurried throw to first base was bad. Bransom went on to second. The game was over when Don Kilbourn grounded out. Central Point's Wciser was hit on the nose by the ball in the seventh canto. He foul ed the ball and it bounced up from the plate.
