Runte, RN, as president, succeeding Kenneth C. Ross. Dr. John Donnelly, Douglas County Health Department, Roseburg, was elected vice president. To Support Bill The group voted to support a bill in Congress providing for improved dental health measures. Other resolutions supported the principle of im proved public health coverage through joint city - county health districts, financial as sistance for professional pub lic health training; and efforts to bring Multnomah county under the provision of the state medical investigation act. Parts the actors, the theater and the town play in present ing Shakespeare's works are featured, accented by several photographs and a color photo of a play in progress. Telling of the theater's his tory and growth, the feature reveals why it has become one of the major events in Oregon and the oldest sum mer Shakespearean Festival in the United States. Cascades is mailed to 17, 000 telephone employees in Washington, O r e g on and northern Idaho, and to some 10,000 business and civic lead ers in the three states. In the Day's News By FRANK JENKINS With returns in from a lit tle better than five-sixths the California precincts, Nixon and Shell, combined had a total of 1,561,000 votes. On the Democratic side. Brown, Hamilton, Moore and Stuart had combined total of 1,627, 221. Here, are the figures, up to now, in detail: Republican: Nixon 1,025,841 Shell 535.537 Democratic: Brown 1,381,505 All others 245,626 BIG political question: Will the Shell voters sit on their hands come next fall? Or will they all come over to Nixon? Nixon made prompt peace overtures toward Shell. The report is that Shell leaves much doubt as to whether he will swing his support to Nixon. Time will tell.
