(UPI) Accidents Reported to Police on Week End Two non-Injury vehicle ac cidents occurred in Medford Monday, according to city po lice. One driver was arrested and lodged in city jail and a second driver was cited. Oliver Fields Glenn, 49, of 220 South Grape St., was cited for violation of basic rule and arrested for being drunk in public after the car he was driving struck a park ed vehicle registered to Rob ert Graham Gresham, 920 East Jackson st., about 8:35 p.m. in front of 312 North Columbus ave. Glenn was lodged in city jail, police said. Karen Dallis Purcell, 18, Central Point, was cited for violation of basic rule after the car she was driving col lided with n vehicle operated by Ralph Hale, 28, of 307 Monroe st., about 1:25 p.m. on North Riverside ave. Cross nurs ing service representative, June 20, 21 and 22 at the Red Cross building, 60 Hawthorne ave., Medford. The course, often referred to as "home nursing," is training President Kennedy has asked a member of every family to take as part of the national Civil Defense pro gram. The purpose of the three day course is to train in structors who, in turn, will teach at least one community class a year. The three day classes will meet from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m Interested women are asked to take sack lunches; coffee will be provided. Registration may be made and additional information obtained from the Red Cross office, 772. 4405. 29 Persons Attend Drivers School Some 29 persons allended the first session of the sixth Drivers Improvement school Tuesday night in the Jackson county courthouse. The school, held by the Medford Municipal and Jack son County district courts, meets the first four Tuesdays of each montU. Instructors are Medford city policeman and Jackson county sheriff's deputies. More than 123 persons have received certificates after suc cessfully completing the course which was started in January. Of the persons at tending this week's class, 26 had been ordered to attend by the courts, according to Medford Police Capt. Clyde Firhtncr. The classes are held from 7 to 9 p.m. each Tuesday and are open to all Interested persons, cited for violation of traffic laws, police said. Friday, vehicles operated by Ronald Claude Ingram, 16, of 440 DeEarr ave., and Nona Sue Scott, 18. of 518 North Riverside ave., collided about 11:10 a.m. at Saling and Pearl sts. A two-car accident occur red about 5:25 p.m. Friday at Fourth st. and North River side ave. Drivers involved were Howard Kenneth White, 45, Baker, Ore., and Marion Elmo Dunlap, 40, Jacksonville. A collision between ve hicles operated by Norman Ben Bevens, 26, Milwaukee, Ore., and Mary Elizabeth Hemingway, 41, of 119 Clark st., was reported about 11:13 p.m, at Eighth st. and River side ave. Robert John Timm, 41, of 718 West 14th st., Medford, was cited for violation of the basic rule and lodged in city jail Friday after the vehicle he was operating struck parked car registered to Wil-' Ham W. Comelison, 825 Da kota ave. The mishap occur red about 11:25 p.m. on Da kota ave. near its intersection with Bcekman ave., police said. Saturday, William Peter Grotte, 29, of 344 Mae st., was cited for failure to leave in formation at the scene of an accident after the vehicle he was operaunii struck two parked cars about 2:25 a.m. on Central ave. between Clark and Beatty sis. The parked cars were regis tered to Ragncr Framhus, 819 North Central ave., and Virgil W. Golden, 819 North Cen tral ave., police reported. Vehicles operated by Ray mond Phillip Vinzant, 30, o 206 Elm st., and George Henri Dahl, 2!), Oakland, Calif., col lided about 5:30 p.m. Satur day at Eighth st. and Onkdnle ave. Following a throe-ear col lision about 10:26 p.m. Satur day, Gary Lamarr McGill, 19. Klamath Falls, was cited for violation of basic rule. Drivers of the oilier vehicles involved were Stanley Clyde Reffetl, 36, Nyssa, Ore., and Wendell Maurice Carson, 21, of 833 West 12th st. Sun day, Claude Stevens, 70, of 20 Lincoln St., was cited for following too close after the car he was driving struck the rear of a vehicle operated by Donald Edward Wilson, 20, of 734 West 11th St., causing it to strike the rear of a car driven bv Rich ard Carrydon Bushnell, 18 Ashland, police said. County Court Renews Insurance Contract The Jackson county court yesterday approved renewing an insurance contract to rover money losses inside and out side the courthouse. The three-year policy would cover losses up to $50.00(1 within the building and $50,. 000 outside the building. County Commissioner Ches ter Wendt said the premium with Springfield Fire and Ma rine Insurance company would be "about $300." Civil Service Lists Exam for Geologist The civil service commis sion has announced exam ination for geologist fur po sitions in Washington, DC, and throughout the country.
