Also installed were the Misses Pat Harris, senior prin cess; Ada Harris, Junior prin cess; barbara Jacobson, guide; Penny Roach, marshall; Judy Chastain, recorder; Rena . Brew, treasurer; Carol Wood, chaplain; Karol Konschot, musician; Maureen Phillips, librarian; Susan Benesh, Karen Svensen, Teresa Patten, Mary Knox, and Sonja Wray, messengers; Judy Wooldridge, senior custodian; Beverly Jacobson, junior custo d 1 a n, Sue Kaer and Qnyle Johnson, guard:; Sue Griffin and Sue Ingram, ladies of lights; Jonel Cheatum, page, and Maurine McNeil, prompter. Choir members Include Cindy Anderson, soloist; Judy Johnson, assistant soloist; and Barbara Wood, Judy Sim mons, Jody Simmons, Mi chelle, Karen Hugdahl, Shar on Hugdahl, Donna Marin, Sue Williams, Cathy Carlson, Linda Glass and Judy Morris. Mrs. Merlyn Harvey, guard Ian, and Robert Harris, as sociate guardian, opened the meeting. The Rev. John O. Reynolds of Westminster Presbyterian church gave the invocation. Kimberly Ellis and Tom Ellis, sister ana brother of the honored queen, escorted the Bible and crown to the altar. Mary Ellis, another sister, was in charge of the guest book. Officers Listed Miss Laura Rupert, retiring queen was installing officer assisted by Marian Parsons, Diane Evernham, Lynn Boughner, Laurie Beth Buono core, Barbara Morton, Linda Nash, Charlotte Brown, and Patricia Selby, all members of Medford bethels 14, 55, and 69. Mike Fethcrston, acting master councilor of Medford chapter, Order of De Molay, and other members of the or der assisted with the crown' ing. Escorted and introduced during the ceremony were Dr. and Mrs. Ellis, the queen's parents; and her sisters and brother. They were presented flowers and her parents gave her a gavel. Also escorted and Intro duced were the honored queens; past honored queens; Mrs. William K. Suit, Med ford, grand bethel guardian: Mrs. Betty Denny, guardian of Grants Pass bethel; Miss Camille Eri, senior princess of Grants Pass bethel; Ross Gil ls i s o n, worthy patron of Reames chapter. Order of Eastern Star. Also introduced were Miss Lona Buffington and Janice Armstrong, past advisors of the Order of Rainbow for Girls, Jackson ville, and Miss Lillian Mad- dison, aunt of the queen. Miss Rupert was presented with her past honored queen's pin and Jobina doll by Miss Ellis, and a tiara and a gift of silver from her officers. Miss Ellis received flowers and tiara from her sister, Kim berly, and Miss Judy Johnson and Judy Chastain, presented her flowers. Barbara Jacob son spoke on behalf of the bethel during the presenta tion. Refreshments were served in the dining room by Mrs. Ivan Harrington, Mrs. Robert Harris, Mrs. Douglas Roach, and Mrs. Norman Svensen. Dancing followed. Medford Man Is Winner Of 'Best Cook7 Award Harry Jewetl, 525 Barnes avenue, is one of 12 men from throughout the country featured in an article In the June issue of Better Homes and Gardens. The magazine cover points up the article with "The Best Cookout Chefs We Know." The article is as a result of a nationwide contest spon sored by the magazine last summer, and each of the men, as winners received a large barbecue grill with electrical ly turned spit and electric starter. Recipes entered are alio given. Mr. Jewett was a winner In the contest with his recipe for "Barbecue Sauce, Ala man." In the articln he Is quoted as saying: "Only an incautious wife would dine devise, revise, or advise in the strictly masculine realm of the barbecue." The recipe for the suuee which Mr. Jewett blends is described as "mellow and beautiful. Does great things for 'burgers, chicken, pork. Use it to glaze kabobs of can ned luncheon meat, too." The recipe calls for one fourth cup chopped onion; two tablespoons salad oil; two cups catsup; one fourth cup Worcestershire sauce; one third cup honey; one table spoon prepared horseradish mustard; one-half teaspoon liquid smoke; one tenspoon vinegar; one-fourth teaspoon garlic salt; one-fourth tea spoon coarse cracked pepper; one-fourth teaspoon crushed rosemary; one-fourth teaspoon crushed thyme; one-fourth teaspoon crushed oregano; one-fourth teaspoon crushed savory and two drops of Ta basco sauce. Cook onion In hot oil till tender, but not brown. Add remaining Ingredients. Sim mer uncovered 10 to 15 min utes. As a basting sauce, use only Inst half hour of cook ing. Makes two and three- fourths cups. Jerome Prairi Couple Honored on A Jerome Prairie Mr. ant) rs. Willim F. Laubach, -44 Laurel aeenuc, were honorc) on their 5h wee ding anvivcr.oiry at a recep tion at the Jerome Prairie community hall. More than 150 gnosis attended. The hall was decorated with flowers including golden chrysanthemums and the table was draped with gold en satin and white net. The arrangements and decorating were done by the childftn of Mr. and Mrs. Laubach. Mrs. Walter Col lind, daitthtor of Mr. and Mrs. Laubach, came fiom De Queen, Ark., fpr the occa sion. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry An tich, another daughter and son-in-law, came from Glen dale, Ore. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Gold Hill Society Plans Installation Gold Hill Mrs. Roy Eskew will be Installed president of the Woman's society of the Gold Hill Methodist church during a meeting Friday, Jiuit 8 In the home of Mrs. S. M. Christensen. The meeting will open at 10:30 a.m., and a pot luck luncheon will be served. Mr. and Mrs. Laubach were married i 1912 in Syracuse, Kan., and shortly after the wedding moved to Color.ido. They came to Jerome Prairie in 1929. They have three daughters and two sons Their nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren were also present. To Meet Mrs. James Stewart, 217 Vashtl way, will be hostess for a covered dish luncheon for all members of the Degree of Honor Protective associa tion at 12 noon Monday, June 4.
