FRED SEUBERT Leadership Concapli Four Specialists to Speak at Seminar Four specialists in specific fields of management will be in Medford Wednesday, April 25, during southern Oregon's second annual Management Seminar, sponsored by the Medford Chamber of Com merce in cooperation with University of Oregon school of business administration. The conference is scheduled nt the Rogue Valley Country club with registration begin ning at 9:30 a.m. The regis tration fee includes a noon luncheon with Kiwanis. Three subjects will be ex plored at the conference. The first is "Motivation" by Dr. Dwainc Richins, director of graduate studies and associ ate professor of business economics. Executive Development He is the author of "Eco nomics Pressure Groups and Governmental Market Regu lations." Dr. Richins is a spe cialist In executive develop ment and a student in social philosophy of business, legal philosophy and government regulation. The noon luncheon speak er will be Dr. Sioma Kagan, on "The Common Markets." Dr. Kagan is professor of In ternational business and an authority on international fi nance and investment, inter national commerce and inter national business operations and policies. He is co-author of "Partners in Progress," "Eire's Industrial Potentials" and "Stanvac in Indincsia." At 2 p.m., following the luncheon, the Seminar group will discuss with Dr. Fred Seubcrt "New Concepts in Leadership." Dr. Scubert Is associate professor, school of business administration, and has serv ed as assistant professor, school of business administra tion of the University of Cal ifornia. He specializes in pub lic administration, human re lations, organization control, planning, and communication. He is author of case studies in human relations, and serv ed as lecturer consultant at the Summer Management In stitute, Internal Revenue Service in 1956, 1957, 1958, 1081. Dr. Ed Reed, professor of finance and head of the de partment of finance and busi ness economics, will serve as co-ordinator of the Manage ment Seminar and introduce the group discussion leaders. Recreational developm n t as a part of public land man agement was discussed at a recent meeting of the public relations committee, Southern Oregon Conservation and Tree Farm association. The need for a more vigor ous and aggressive policy aim ed at faster development of suitable recreational facilities by all public agencies was outlined by Don Stathos, chairman of the committee. The chairman pledged the ment of accessible recreation- recreation seekers on public al sites. As a rule, Dellenback said, the legislature estimates what the programs authorized will rnsl, and then it is determined how much the nrr,i ! rales will realize, and If this i amount is insufficient, then rales are raised, or other ad justments must be made to meet the bill. Dellenback commented on the fact that Oregon has up to now been on a sound fiscal policy, that of pay-as-you-go for new programs.
