Gallagher, 33, a re search scientist who helped make the first radar contact with the sun, was electrocuted Thursday in a laboratory ac cident. Stanford university authori ties said the scientist was holding a metal "probe" for an oscilliscope when it acci dentally touched a cable car rying 5,000 volts. The special guitar show will be from 7 to 9 p.m. and the public has been in vited. In Italy Mr. and Mrs. Nate Edwards, who own a summer home on Big Butte creek, are in Toormina, Italy, where Ed wards is production manager for a United Artists picture. Medical Patients Laurie Ann Meyers, 9-m onth-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rob ert Meyers, 1125 West 10th st., Medford, and Mrs. Ray mond Stotler, route 1, box 721, Eagle Point, were listed as medical patients Friday at Sacred Heart hospital. - Stolen Pickup - Two Med ford boys, 14 and 12, were picked up by Jackson county sheriff's deputies Thursday after they were discovered driving a pickup truck which had been reported stolen from the Northwest Swimming Pool company, 182214 West Main st. Miller, 76, died at his home at 208 North Main, Phoenix, Friday evening. Conger-Morris is in charge of funeral arrangements. FRED G. MORRIS Private services for Fred G. Morris, of 10 Highland dr.. Medford, who died April 9, will be read by a Christian Scientist at Hillcrest Mortu ary chapel, North Phoenix rd., Monday at 10 a.m. Com mittal will be in Hillcrest Memorial park, with Conger- Morris funeral directors in charge of arrangements. - Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Charlotte Williamson, of Golden, Colo.; and a brother Charles Morris, of Denver, Colo. His wife, Wealtha Mor ris, proceeded him in death in 1960. THEODORE L. OSBORNE JR. Theodore L. Osborne Jr., 36, formerly of Shady Cove, died in Honolulu, Hawaii, Fri day. Conger-Morris funeral di rectors are in charge of arrangements. PAULINE MITCHELL Mrs. Pauline Eunice Mitch ell, 45, died in a local hospital Saturday morning. She was born at Dierks, Ark., May 9, 1915. and had been a resident of Oregon for 15 years. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her mother, Mrs. Rena J. Thornton, Klamath Falls; her husband, Archie T. Mitchell; one son, Jerry Holland Mitch ell, Klamath Falls; two daugh ters, Mrs. Rena Mitchell, Kla math Falls, and Mrs. Shelby Hershfelt, Albany, Ore.; one step-son, Lt. (j.g.) Kenneth Mitchell, Bremerton, Wash.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Eu- wentha Russel Jr., of Hous ton, Tex.; one sister. Mrs. Junnle Hoover, Klamath Falls; two brothers, Webster E. Thornton, Locksberg, Ark., Lafayette Thornton, Dierks, Ark., and 10 grandchildren. Mrs. Mitchell was a mem ber of the First Baptist church of Klamath Falls, and a mem ber of the VFW and PTA. Funeral services will be held at Wards Klamath Fun eral home. Perl Funeral home had charge of the local arrangements. Laura; a daughter, Mrs. Rich ard L. Grigsby, of Portland; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Burgess, of Medford; three sisters, Mrs. L. Knlck- enbocker, of Santa Monica, Calif., Mrs. Theodore Darling, of Inglewood, Calif., and Mrs. Robert Gardner, of Denver, Colo. Four grandchildren also survive. Active pall bearers will be William Abbott, Charles Cook, Ray Allred, Vernon Marshall, Ned Marrs and Stanley Morgan. Honorary bearers will be Foster White, Ray Barker, Fred Whitehead, Carl Miller, Raymond Hoadlcy, Carl El hart, Harold Luchterhand, Lloyd Seymour, Thad Halten, Roy Clark, Gordon Stephen and Howard Wood. The Hillah Temple band, of Ashland, will serve as honor guard. Hearings Postponed Washington - lUPIt - Sens. Wayne Morse (D-Ore.), and Joseph Clark (D-Pa.), have postponed hearings that had been scheduled for Monday on their bill to authorize low interest loans to build religi ous and other private schools. The two Demcorats said they put off the hearings be cause they and other mem bers of the Senate Education Committee are tied up with a number of bills, including the administration's big aid to public schools measure which the panel will take up in closed session Wednesday. CRATER STUDENT ELECT ED - Kerry Koopman, above, Crater High school junior, re cently was elected president of Region 2 of Future Teach ers of America. Region 2 con sists of the schools in the Roseburg, Klamath Falls, Gold Beach, Coos Bay and Rogue River valley areas. The Crater High School Future Teachers' Scrapbook also took first place. BAR of Dancing Nightly HOTEL MEDFORD RAYMOND SCHUMACHER Funeral services for Ray mond Joseph Schumacher, 53, of 126 Portland ave., Medford, who died Triday, will be held at Conger-Morris funeral home downtown chapel Mon day at 2:30 p.m. Mr. H. O. Martin of the West Main Church of Christ will officiate. Masonic servic es will be conducted by Med ford Lodge 103 AF & AM. Committal will be in Siskiyou Memorial park. Mr. Schumacher was born May 7, 1907 in Billings, Mont. He came to Medford in 1924. He was married to Laura Hel- enbrook Jan. 5, 1925 in Jol liet, Mont. She survives. Mr. Schumacher was in the real estate, grocery, clothing and construction business in Southern Oregon. He was elected county assessor in 1956 and was in his second term of office at the time of his death. Organizations he belonged to include: Masons; Medford Lodge 103 AF & AM; Royal Arch Masons; Table Rock Council 15; Malta Comman dery 4; Royal and Select Mas ters; Knights Templar of Ash land; Hillah Temple AAON MS, Ashland; Reames Chap ter 66; Order of Eastern Star; Eagles Lodge, and Ashland Lodge 944 BPOE. His professional affiliations included membership in the National Association of Coun ty Officials, American Soci ety of Appraisers, Oregon County Assessors' association and International Association of Assessing Officers. In addi tion, Mr. Schumacher was president of the Oregon Real Estate association.
