Whereas to locate the new federal building in the pro posed civic center would coin-1 cide with the generalized land lise plan for the city, and that there is now located in the proposed civic center the Jackson county courthouse, public library .and the West side park, all of which were located, pursuant to the 1931 plan for the civic center; and that a federal building is and should be an Integral part of the civic center; and .. , Whereas in the interest of orderly development, sound planning, a need for addition al public buildings, and suste nance of property values in the city, the federal building should be located in the civic center. .' . ? .. Horace M. Ba shinskl, commanding officer, Naval Reserve and Marine Corps training center, Port land; and Lt. Col. Fred W Decker, AFR, Oregon State college professor. Ashlander Pleads Innocent To Charge Ashland-Rogcr Alvln Park, 21, of Garfield St., Ashland, pleaded innocent to charges of petty larceny in Ashland municipal court Wednesday and was released from jail on hall Thursday. -A complaint charging Park with larceny wns signed by Thomas Hanson, operator of the Douglas Service station on Siskiyou blvd. Park was an employee of the station. The complaint was signed Wednes day, Park was ordered to reap pear in court April 18. Local Student Named President of Council Kugene -uick sorenson, a Junior in economics, was re cently elected president of the inter - fraternity president's council at the University of Oregon for 1961-62.
