Water Runoff To Be
About 90 Per Cent
' Although the water supply
outlook for the 1961 water
year' in. southern Oregon has
improved by the March rains,
the water year runoff at most
points will be only 80 to 90
per cent of average. ..
This was pointed out by
Anthony J.- Polos, Portland
hydrologist in charge of the
river forecast center.
It was explained that since
much of the March precipita
tion occurred as snow at high
er elevations, the residual
flow from April through Sep
tember estimates have im
proved. .
Water supply forecast for
south fork of the Rogue river
predicts that the water year
flow will be 87 per cent of
average, with the residual
flow 95 per cent of average.
