Bridal Shower Given Recently or Miss Ayres : Ashland - "Our Town," a modern American theater clas sic, will be presented by the Southern Oregon College Players, April 7 and 8 In the Churchill Hall auditorium on the college campus. The play is the first of two productions planned for spring term and is under the direc tion of Angus Bowmer, SOC profesor of drama. "Our Town" was written by Thorton Wilder, author of the novel, "The Bridge of San Luis Rey." The play, produced without a stage setting, takes place in a New England town at the beginning , of : the twentieth century and surveys the hap penings common; to people of every town - love, marriage, and death. Serving as the focal point of the play is the stage man ager. The author has created a part which requires the ac tor to suggest the scene, play many small parts, and reveal the, plot. Dave O'Donahue. Klamath Falls, will appear in tnis role. The plot concerns itself with two young people who dis cover their love for each oth er, and eventually marry. PTA Program To Include Music; Officer Election ; "Music, music, music," will be the theme ot the. program at the April 6 meeting of the Griffin Creek Parent-Teachers association. Providing the entertain ment will b the school band and the fifth and sixth grade chorus. The band is under the direction of Steven Whip ple. Solos and otl er numbers will be featured as well as songs from the entire band. The chorus, directed by Miss Pat Leek, will present several musical selections. There will be election of PTA officers for the coming year. The voting will be by secret ballot. . Refreshments will be serv ed at the social hour follow ing the meeting by the moth ers of pupils in Mrs. Charlotte Stearns' room with Mrs. Paul Vincent and Mrs. Martin Burke in charge.
