The boys at the office had given the
new husband an earnl of advice on
how to handle wives. "Action," they
told him, "speaks louder than words.
Right from the start, show her what
you insist on."
That night the bride served a meal
that was burned to cinders. Taking his
friends' aduice, the husband quietly
look the plate and tossed it out the
window. The bride never said a word
she just took all the plates, silverware,
even the tablecloth, and hurled them
out the window, too.
"it's fine with me, John," she said,
"but the next time I wish you'd tell
me when you want to eat dinner in
the garden."

The newspaper reporter was inter
viewing a man on his 100th birthday.
"And what are you most proud of this
day?" the reporter asked.
"Well," the old man said, "I've lived
100 years, and I haven't an enemy in
the world."
"What a beautiful thought truly in
spirational," the reporter said.
"Yep," the centenarian cackled, "out

A stranger spotted a boy standing
near the emergency entrance of a hos
pital and asked what he was doing
there. "I'm waiting for my Pop," the
boy replied.
Just then an ambulance raced up the
driveway and screeched to a halt. A
handsome interne jumped out, waved
to the boy, and dashed into the hospi
tal. "That's my Pop!" the boy said
proudly.
"It must be pretty exciting to have
a father who's a doctor and rides an
ambulance."
The boy's jaw dropped and tears
welled in his eyes. "He's a doctor?"
the youngster asked in obvious disap
pointment. "He told me he rode shot
gun for the driver!"
