AN ALABAMA YOUNGSTER, who'd been offered a dollar
by his parents for each "A" on his report card,
explained the situation to his teacher and made her an
ingenious business proposition: he offered her 50 cents
of each dollar he collected.

admonished her.
A Bronx, N.Y., grammar-school teacher kept a
naughty pupil after school. Next day she was served
with legal papers from the' boy's father, who demand
ed she pay $1 for his son's lost baby-sitting wages.

. - In Harlan, Ky., children in the second grade of a local .
school enjoyed an unexpected vacation because a mother
dog decided to raise her pups beneath the floor of the
school. The pups whined, the mother barked, and the
dog warden chopped holes in the floor. This caused a draft,
so the teacher dismissed the class until further notice.
