After dividing a series with Portland State over the week end, SOC now has a 6-8 rec ord in league action while winning nine of 23 games on the overall season. The Raid ers have lost three straight to the Techmen, and the chances for a victory tonight look slim with the Owls holding the home court advantage. Coach Ted Schopf altered the Raider offense for the PSC series and the team responded with a decisive 57-46 victory Friday night as the SOC squad fired at a blistering .538 pace from the field. Saturday, it was a different story as the Raiders turned ice-cold in the second half and hit only six of 32 shots from the field to drop a 5-40 decision. Leads Standings Oregon Tech leads the OCC standings with a 9-4 win-loss mark, with Eastern Oregon second at 9-5 and the PSC Vikings third with 8-5. The Techmen were idle last week end,- but EOC failed to take over first place when they split with lowly Oregon Col lege, the loop's cellar-dwellers with a 2-11 showing. One Mistake Sends Crowd Home Early San Francisco IUPD A pos sible .rematch was in the works today between Kirk Barrow and Floyd Joyner, with the latter apparently anxious to take a chance on getting clobbered again. Barrow, a Spokane heavy weight who is being built up into a San Francisco drawing card, sent the crowd home early Monday night when he flattened his Phoenix oppon ent in 2:08 of the second round. It took only one punch to do it. Barrow, scaling 185 to the rangy Joyner's 203, took a right to the head then coun tered with a thunderous right to the back of Joyner's nog gin which put him in a reclin ing position for the full count. 21 Wins Barrow now has recorded two knockouts in three win ning appearances at Kezar Pavilion and boosted his life time record to 21 wins, three losses and a draw. "I'd like to fight Barrow again," the dejected Joyner said afterwards. "I made just one mistake. I dropped my guard after I hit him." Kaley Sonner, Barrow's talkative manager, said that his charge was not ready to fight Zora Folley, Joyner's stablemate. "Let Folley make a name for himself first," Sonner wisecracked. A crowd of about 3,000 paid 4,030 to witness the short contest. This unique process breaks down each drop of the fine whiskies and grain neutral spirits into its smallest possible components and then "marries" them more thoroughly than ever before. The result can only be realized by tasting Schenley whisky. We think you'll agree: smoothness in a whisky has now taken on a completely new meaning.
