Mc JGee, uncle of the bride, offi ciated at the two o'clock aft ernoon single ring rites. Bas kets of yellow and white chrysanthemums decorated the church and Mrs. James M. Sinclair played the organ wedding music. Soloist was the Rev. Mr. Sinclair. Ap proximately 50 relatives and friends attended. , The bride wore a ballerina length cown of white Alen- con lace over whit satin. The scoop neckline was outlined witli net which was appiiquea with lace embroidered with Iridescent sequins. The gown was fashioned with fitted .bo dice, long sleeves -and full skirt. Her illusion -veil was held by a crown of ' irides cent sequins and she carried a cascade bouquet of white gardenias and white carna tions. Mr. McGee gave his daughter in marriage. . Dinner is Given For Newlyweds Happy Cnmp-Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hokcnson, who were married during the Christmas holidays, were honored recent ly at a potluck dinner at the home of Mr, and Mrs. James Foote, Happy Camp. Fifteen friends of the young couple attended and presented them with a gift from the faculty and employees at the Happy Camp High school where Mr. Hokcnson is em ployed. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hamilton, Mr, and Mrs. James Tristan, Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Morey, Gilbert Woolweber, Mrs. Ruby Grace Applcgate, Mrs. Walter Whit man, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur French and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Toleman. Members Present Chapter Program "Voice and Vocabulary" was the title of a program present ed by Mrs. Gordon Logan at a meeting of Gamma Rho chapter. Beta Sigma Phi soror ity, January 11, Members met in the home of Mrs. Charles Rhodes, Valleyview, Ashland. A second program, "Talk ing over Television and on the radio," was presented by Mrs. Dnrol Hughes. Mrs. Harold Sloper, co-hostess, served re freshments. The next meeting of the chapter is scheduled for Wed nesday, January 23, at the home of Mrs. Robert Myrick, Phoenix. Her flowers were gardenias, Candle lighters were Miss' Sara Vandenburg and Miss Jean Forrest. They wore frocks of light blue bro cade and had gardenia cor sages. They carried lighted candles in satin pompons, Kerman Bennett served as best man and seating the guests were Howard Hartman and Steven Longer. . '. Following the ceremony a reception was! held in the fel lowship room of the church, Mrs. Cleo Vandenburgh cut and served thi wedding cake, baked and decorated by Mrs. William Glen McKinnis, step mother of the bridegroom, Mrs. Floyd Taylor presided at the punch bowl and Mrs. Charles Forrest poured cof fee. ' I ' ; ,' vt- The couple (raveled to San Francisco, Mqnlo Park and Carmel on their wedding trip, the bride wearing for travel ing a white wool sheath dress with blue accessories. The bride attended Ashland High school and is a dental-assist ant for Dr. D. W. Morrison, Menlo Park. During the sum mer she was a swimming in structor for the Ashland re creation department. Mr. Mc Kinnis is also a graduate of Ashland High school and is attending Southern Oregon college on an athletic schol arship. The bride is senior past hon ored queen for Ashland beth el, International Order of Job's Daughters. She is the grand daughter of the late J. H. and Olive McGee of Ash land and great granddaughter of the late Sara Catherine Blevln Wing who arrived In the valley with the Apple gate wagon train. Menlo Park, sister of the bride and James Raymond McGee Jr. and John Ooit Adams Mc Gee, both Son Francisco, Calif., brothers of the bride. Newlyweds Make Home In Portland; Rites Here Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gor don Owsley Jr. are making their home In Portland fol lowing their wedding in Med ford at Zlon Lutheran church. The Rev. H. C. Coovert offi ciated at the evening double ring ceremony attended by 200 relatives and friends. The bride is the former Susan Beth Reule, daughter of Mrs. Eleanor B. Reule, Car gill court, and .Robert R. Reule, Milwaukee, Wis. Mr. Owsley's parents are Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Owsley, Barnett road. Mr. Reule gave his daugh ter in marriage at the Decem ber 17 ceremony. Decorations were in keeping with the season. The bride wore a floor length gown of white satin. Her fingertip length veil was held in a pearl and sequin crown and she carried a bou quet of carnations and steph anotis. Miss Salli Reule was maid of honor for her sister and bridesmaids were Miss Eileen Finnegan, Miss Tanya Enders and Miss Lynda Peebler. They wore velvet frocks with matching satin cummerbunds. Their headdresses and muffs were white fur. Miss Reule was in forest green and the bridesmaids wore wine red. Little Jeanle Sheldon was flower girl. Her dress was green and she carried a bas ket of red rose petals. Robert Cresap, Ashland, nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer. James Owsley served as best man for his brother. Ush ers were Larry Perkins, Rose- Medford Student Secretary For Beaver Preview Miss Karen Culbertson, daughter of Mr. and . Mrs. Thomas Culbertson, 2615 Hill crest road, is general secre tary for the Beaver Preview which Is scheduled at Oregon State college January 28-29. Over 1,000 high school sen iors from all parts of Oregon are expected to visit the cam pus during the week end. They will be guests in college living groups and be enter tained at Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast and dinner. The program officially begins Saturday noon with a general assembly and box luncheon in the coliseum. A varsity basketball game with the University of Wash ington Huskies is planned for Saturday night and an all- school sock dance will be held afterward. District Officers Guests of Group Rogue River Civic Improve ment club, member of Oregon Federation of Women's Clubs, was hostess to First district officers last Thursday in their club house at Rogue River. Mrs. Edward B. Burkett, club president, welcomed and introduced Mrs. Clay M. Lee, Medford, president of the First district; Mrs. H. J. Stephens, Rogue River, first vice presi dent; Mrs. Ralph Foster, Ash land, state chairman and sec ond vice president; Mrs. Jason O 1 1 1 n ger, parliamentarian; Mrs. Jack D. Mrs. Larry McNealy was in charge of the guest book. Marvin and Craig Smith, Watsonville, Calif., dis tributed rice packets to the guests. The bride attended Medford High school and was employ ed by Forest Glen Lumber company. Mr. Owsley was graduated from Medford High school and attended Southern Oregon college. Bolster, rector of St. Mark's Episcopal church and a member of the board of directors of Rogue Valley Memorial hospital, congratulates Miss Judith Frasier, a student nurse, following capping ceremonies held recently at the hospital. Miss Frasier is a member of the second class to be enrolled in the Southern Oregon School of Practical Nursing at the hospital. Student Nurses Receive Caps in Chapel Ceremony Twelve students of the Southern Oregon School of Practical Nursing received their caps in ceremonies held in the chapel of Rogue Valley Memorial hospital. The Rev. George R. V. Bol ster, rector of St. Mark's Epis copal church and a member of the hospital's board of di rectors, presided. He address ed the students, school offici als and guests on the signifi cance of the school, establish ed in 1959, as another mile stone in the hospital's growth over the past 25 years. "In the future, the board of directors hopes to expand this program which was designed to help alleviate the. great shortage of trained nursing personnel," the Rev. Mr. Bol ster said, "With the comple tion of the new wing, the hos pital will have enough facili ties to double the capacity of the school to 30 students." The speaker added that the large number of students attracted from outside the local area was giving Medford added rec ognition as a training center. The school's instructor, Mrs. Bertha Morrill, R.N., describ ed the nurse's cap as "a sym bol of the dignity and efficien cy of the nursing profession," awarded after successful com pletion of the pre-cllnical pe riod during which students prove themselves academical ly and emotionally capable of the duties of patient care. Mrs. Mary Vanderlin, direc tor of nurses, also participated in the ceremonies which marked the end of four months training in the year long course. Students receiving caps were: Mrs. Ruth Walls, .
