Allsup, Central Point, took
place in the Zion Lutheran
church Saturday, January 7.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert H. Da
vis, Balboa, and the bride
groom's parents are Mr.and
(Mm. J. C. Allsup, 319 West
Pine street, Central Point.

formed the candlelight cere
mony at three o'clock in the
afternoon before a small num
ber of friends and relatives.
' The bride wore a white
wool sheath with white acces
sories and a shoulder-length
veil. Her flowers were white
carnations and a yellow or
chid. She was given in mar
riage by her uncle, Forrest
Ward, Talent.
Miss Cheryl Lea Carnine,
Camas Valley, attended the
bride. She wore a beige sheath
dress with white accessories
and a pink rosebud corsage.

bride's grandmother, Mrs.
Pansy Davis; the bridegroom's
grandmother, Mrs. N. A. Roy

Mrs. Allsup wore an avocado
colored suit with bone white
accessories and a pink baby
rosebud corsage.
,.A reception for the newly
weds followed at the Allsup
home, after which the couple
left for southern California
to make their home. The bride
attended schools in Balboa and
also Southern Oregon college.
The bridegroom is a graduate
of Crater High school and at
tended SOC. He has been em
ployed by Oregon Veneer com
pany. The bride's family has lived
in the Canal Zone for the past
20 years and the bridegroom's
family has lived in this area
for the past seven years.
Roguette Circle
Elects Officers
Mrs. Russel Zundel was
elected lady butterfly of
Roguette circle, Military Or
der of Lady Bugs, at their
meeting Tuesday at the Veter
ans of Foreign Wars hall.
Others elected were Mrs. O.
O. DeBerry, buttinsky for one
year, and Mrs. Con Rost, butt
insky for three year term.

by Mrs. R. D. Schulz.

sisted by Mrs.'Lusk. The next
meeting will be held Febru
ary 14.

Eagle Point- Six girls and
four leaders were invested
into the Girl Scouts of Ameri
ca, Brownie Troop 184, at a
ceremony Tuesday night after
school in the Eagle Point
High school band room. Mrs.
Jack James, committee chair
man, invested the leaders,
Mrs. David Harbison and
Mrs. Elmer Binker, and Com
mitteewomen Mrs. Roy Nolen
and Mrs. Lester Raber into
the troop. She presented them
with their scout leaders pins.
Mrs. Elmer Binker pre
sented pins and cards to Tan
ya Harbison, Patsy Binker,
Mara Linn Raber and Janice
Dover, all second and third
grade girls.

pins and cards to fourth grade

vestiture ceremonies.
Candlelight ceremonies were
used, with the girls being pre
sented to their leader by
Brownie Scout Sheryll Stone.
Each girl's mother stood be
hind her to take part in "twist
ing and turning her" before
she looked into the pool to
find the Brownie elf, follow
ing the reading of the original
Brownie story by their lead
er. Terri Childers was candle
lighter.
Eagle Point Girl Scouts
and their leaders, Mrs. Orville
Stone and Mrs. Smith, were
guests with Miss Jackie Smith
leading the flag ceremonies.

mothers, Mrs. Lena Harper
and Mrs. Lauren Dover, and
other mothers previously list
ed. Kathy Fowler, Carolyn
Stone and Palsy Binker were
hostesses and furnished re
freshments. At a recent meeting offi
cers were elected for the
fourth grade patrol. They are:
president, Terry Childers, sec
retary, Sherryll Stone; vice
president, Diane Harper;
treasurer, Linda Nolen; re
porter, Kathy Fowler.
In the second and third
grade patrol, Tanya Harbison
was elected president, Patsy
Binker, vice-president; Janice
Dover, secretary, and Mara
Linn Raber, treasurer. Offi
cers will be re-elected each
month to give each girl a
chance to be an officer and
gain the necessary experience
of helping run the meetings.

The Get Together club will
hold a public card party Fri
day, January 20. at the Girls
Community club. A dessert
luncheon will be served at
1 p.m. followed by cards.

Herman, Concord, Calif., and
the bridegroom's parents are
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Painter,
Jacksonville.
The Rev. John Simon per
formed the ceremony at four
o'clock in the afternoon be
fore a small number of friends
and relatives. Mrs. Joe Hoyt
played the organ and Mrs.
Robert Joliffe and Ronald An
sted sang.
Mrs. Don Bradley was ma
tron of honor for her cousin
and Eugene Mosser served as
best man. Ushers were Owen
Brisllin, Charles Hoyt and
Richard Meister.
The bride, who was given
in marriage by Don Bradley,
wore a while satin brocade
sheath dress with white ac
cessories and a short illusion
veil. She caried a bouquet of
red camellias and white carnations.
Mrs. Bradley wore a sheath
of red satin brocade with
black accessories and a red
camellia and white carnation
corsage.
At the reception which fol
lowed in the Pythian hall,
Mrs. Charles Hoyt served the
wedding cake and Miss Vir
ginia Pearce poured punch.
The bride attended schools
in The Dalles and the bride
groom attended Laurelwood
academy and schools in Gas
ton. Oregon. The young couple
will reside in Sacramento,
where he is an employee of
the Aero Jet corporation. For
traveling, the bride wore a
smoke green suit with beige
accessories.

Francisco January 16-19, by

Catt memorial fund, with a

has enlisted the assistance of
the League of Women Voters
to secure cooperation of indi
viduals and organizations in
building citizen and commu
nity understanding of the
three major ideas which the
project has to communicate.
These ideas are: (1) estab
lish the urgent need for world
economic development; (2) ex
plain what the United Nations
is doing to meet the need; (3)
clarify why use of UN chan
nels for international econ
omic cooperation is advantag
