Tussle at Ashland
Medlotd high's varsity
wrestling aggregation will try
for its second win of the
season this evening when it
goes to Ashland.
There will be preliminary
bouts at 7 p.m. and counting
tussles will start at 8 p.m.
In a junior varsity match
on Tuesday Medford nipped
Ashland 30 to 27.

Jack Nichols, a certified
skiing instructor, has been
named president of the Rogue
Snowmen.
Reelected vice president of
the local ski club was Bob
Bills. Wally Iverson was
chosen secretary treasurer.
The club which met Tues
day plans another session
around the first of next year.
Snowmen say they hor to
help start a "dry land" ski
school. They also discussed
methods by which they might
be of assistance in the three
or four charter bus ex r
sions to Mt. Shasta for ski
ing planned for high school
students here. The excursions
would be on Saturdays.
NATATORS BILL TRIP
Eugene-WPD-The University
of Oregon swimming team
will travel to Hawaii during
the Christmas vacation for 10
days of training and clinic
performances. The team 'so
went to the islands last year.

of the San Francisco Forty
Niners and the Green Bay
Packers took on the aspects
of World War III today as the
two grid powers prepared to
play for the Western division
lead in the National league on
Saturday.
Both camps were shut down
to visitors, spies were in every
tree and photographers were
about as popular as an alien
with a camera in World
War II.
In fact, the whole affair got
so out of hand that Green
Bay was hiring a guard to go
around the Stanford practice
field and spit tobacco juice in
the knot holes.
Film Grabbed
Paul Gorman, United Press

found this out when he tried
to get some pictures from
long range. When he finally
snapped one, it immediately
was grabbed by one of the
Packer guards.
The worst part of it was
that on the roll of film were
several pictures of the Forty
Niners In action with their
shot-gun offense," said Gor
man.
Phil Bengston, former Forty
Niner defensive coach and
now handling the same job for
the Packers, was elated at the
news that the film had been
captured.
"We better get that film de
veloped right away," said
Bengston, "so we can take a
look at what they are doing."

enough interest is shown.
Classes are being held on
Mondays and Fridays from
5:15 to 6 p.m. for beginners
and intermediate swimmers.
Thn 2 is a "swim the P?ue
contest eoing on at the Y. It
consists of a 50-mile swim,
Men may enter the cctest
and swim on the following
times: noon to 1:30 each day,
5:15 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays
and Wednesdays and 5:15 to
6 p.m. on Thursdays.
Competition will last
through March 1961. No one
can swim more than a mile
a day.
