PTA Dinner And Concert Announced Central Point - Central Point Parent-Teachers associ ation will present its annual chili dinner Thursday, De cember 8 at the Central Point Junior High school cafeteria. Serving time will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. PTA members take pride in the quality of their chili which is made by the same recipe every year. The slow cooking of the large quantity of chili adds to the flavor ac cording to many of the par ents. Macaroni and cheese will' be available to those who pre fer it. The modest price is possible due to the food donations and work contributed by the PTA members. Funds received will be used for unit projects. Later Thursday evening Cen tral Point Elementary and Junior High schools will pre sent a concert in observance of Christmas. George Johns, principal, in vites all interested persons to attend the concert which will begin at 8 p.m. and conclude at 9 p.m. The concert is free to the public. . The eighty -piece Junior High school band, under the direction of Harry Meyers, will present several numbers. Also performing will be the Elementary school chorus un der the direction of Mrs. Jo anne Sousa. Mrs. Dayion Depue (at left) holds a Christmas wreath of cypress with bright red bow which was made at a workshop held by Medford Garden club members Tuesday at the Jackson County courthouse, Mrs. Depue and Mrs. Ira Fitzgerald (right) and other club members, are making decora tions to be sold at the club Christmas Treas ures show to be held December 9-10 at Santo hall, 701 North Columbus avenue. The show is open to the public and those interested are invited to enter their work; this will be the first garden club standard Christmas show ever held in this area. Christmas Vesper Program Planned. at SOC on Sunday Ashland - The annual Christmas vesper program at Southern Oregon college will be presented Sunday, Decem ber 11, at 4 p.m. in the Britt ballroom, according to Oscar Bjorlie, choir director. Members of the choir, small choral groups and an ensem ble conducted by Mrs. Aud rey Bartlett, Medford, will participate. Club To Exchange Christmas Gifts Phoenix - Phoenix Garden club will have a Christmas exchange of gifts grown by or made by the member at the regular monthly meeting Friday, December fl. at the Community club building. This is a workshop meeting and will begin at 10 a.m. A demonstration will bo given by Mrs. A. C. Lewis on candle making and one in tin craft by Mrs. Otto Kempt. Ash. land. At noon a potluck luncheon will be held, and those attending are to bring table service. Hostesses for the day will be Mrs. A. C. Lewis. Mrs. Lillian Coleman and Mrs. L. O. Caster. Ribbon for the making of Christmas decorations will be on sale to club members. Student To Speak At PTA Session DeAnn Taylor will be guest speaker at the December meeting of Washington Parent-Teacher association meet ing Friday, December 9, at 2:30 p.m. She will speak and show slides taken last sum mer during a visit in Germany as an exchange student. Christmas music will be presented by the fifth grade chorus under the direction of Mrs. Jean Dyrud, School will be dismissed at 2 p.m. to allow time for parent-teacher conferences. Refreshments will be served by mothers of children in the second grade. Baby sitter service will be available.
