The couple visited friends
and while sightseeing through
out the Islands visited

To Play Here
David Abel, young west
coast violinist, will play in
Medford Saturday, November
IB, for the seasons first Jack
son County Civic Music con
cert. Young Abel established
himself as one of the fore
most of the younger genera
tion of American violinists
with a Town Hall debut. He
has appeared as soloist under
Arthur Fiedler with the San
Francisco symphony; also
under Fiedler with the Bos
ton Pops orchestra; and with
the Boston symphony under
Pierre Monteux.
The violinist also appeared
on the Standard Hour with
the Los Angeles philharmo
nic, and has filled many other
notable engagements with
other symphonies.
His local appearance will
be at the Medford High
school auditorium.

Dennis Ronald Lundgren, son

CARE Tea November 21
The Travel Study club of
the Oregon Federation of
Women's clubs, will Join the
General Federation of Worn
en's clubs and the Oregon
Federation in supporting the
CARE program for Latin
American countries, accord
ing to Mrs. Jack D. Brum-
mond, Travel Study club
president.
"They will, through CARE
supply the equipment and
tools necessary for self-help
and self-respect. The lessen
ing of human suffering on a
peoplc-lo-pcople basis has and
always will be CARE'S great
est concern," Mrs. Brummond
stated.
A CARE tea on Monday,
November 21, at the Girls'
Community club will kick off
the CARE campaign.
Mrs. Brummond appointed
Mrs. Clay M. Lee, chairman
for the tea. Others on the
committee are Mrs. Edward
C. Root, Mrs. William E.
Boone, Mrs. Jason Ottinger,
Mrs. Beryl Lyon and Mrs.
Brummond. The tea will be
from 2 to 4 p.m. and the pub
lic Is invited to attend. There
will be music and speakers
during the afternoon.
