Mothersingers To Begin Season - Central Point-District 6C Mothersingers will have their first practice of the season at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, at the home of Mrs. Harvey Field, Seven Oaks Road, Cen tral Point. J Mrs. Field will direct the group in three part vocal ar rangements, and anyone who yeads music and enjoys, sing ing is invited to join. i 4 Get Together club will meet Friday, November 4, at 1 p.m. pt the Girls Community club. Traditionally one of the most festive parties of the fall sea son in the Rogue valley, the supper is given every two years by the league as a ben efit for the group's kinder garten for hard-of-hearing children. "Pleasures of the Imperial Table" and cham pagne will be served at eight o'clock. Members of the Jun ior Service league will model holiday and at-home clothes during the evening. Musicians will play all during the party and for dancing. Chairmen of the champagne supper are Mrs. Rodger Ster- ton and Mrs. James Shaw. In charge of decorations is Mrs, Donald Jackson and programs are planned by Mrs. Fred Lewis. The menu was ar ranged by Mrs. Robert Dick ey; invitations by Mrs. James Wilson and the fashion show by Mrs. Arlon Skinner and Mrs. Robert Taylor. Reserva tions are handled by Mrs. Gil bert Tumy. Rites Pledge Group of Four A preferential tea held Oc tober 24 at the home of Mrs. Howard Phillips, concluded the fall rush program of Al pha Lambda chapter of Epsi lon Sigma Alpha. A pledge ceremony was held for Mrs. Harold Ed monds, Mrs. Jack Huston, Mrs. Herbert Partridge and Mrs. Harvey Wyatt. Mrs. Wil lie Fischer conducted the cere mony with Mrs. Richard Har rison and Mrs. William Rig gert assisting. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Chester Peterson. This year the Alpha Lamb da rush program consisted of a rush party held October 3, at the home of Mrs. Daniel Kidd and a model meeting held October 10, at the home of Mrs. Riggert. Mrs. Harrison and Mrs. Kidd presented an education al program on health and physical education following the theme for the year "Alpha Lambda Goes to College." Refreshments were served by Mrs. Robert Rae and Mrs. Lyman Smith. Miss Dianna Jean Cum mings became the bride of George Arthur Hunt in a ceremony held Saturday, Oc tober 22, at First Methodist church. Dr. George G. Rose berry officiated at the 8 o'clock evening rites attended by 200 relatives and friends. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Cummings, 707 Midway drive. Mr. Hunt's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Skyrman, Gold Rey dam road. Blue and white chrysanthe mums decorated the church. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white Chantilly lace dress fashioned with fitted bodice accented at the neckline with pearls and a full skirt which formed a short train. Her shoulder length veil was held by a pearl crown and she carried a bouquet of stephanotis en circling a large white orchid. Miss Susan Jane Cummings, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmatrons were Mrs. John Deuel, Central Point, sister-in-law of, the bridegroom, Mrs. Sheffield Killian, and Mrs. Beverly Nor um, aunt of the bride. They wore pale blue chiffon frocks with contrasting blue velvet jackets and headdresses. Miss Cummings carried blue chrys anthemums and the other at tendants white chrysanthe mums. Candlelighters were. Julie Cummings, sister of the bride. and Connie Frohreich. Janet Cummings, cousin of the bride, and Sharron Deuel, niece of the bridegroom, were flower girls. For her daughter's wedding and reception which followed at the church, Mrs. Cummings chose a blue wool sheath dress with jacket. Mrs. Skyrman wore a blue silk crepe sheath dress. Their corsages were white orchids. Mrs. Clyde Lees and Mrs. Claude Jones cut and served the wedding cake. Mrs. James Cummings, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. Verner McCall pre sided at the punch bowl and Miss Margaret Ann Ayres, Central Point, cousin of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. The couple traveled to Car- mel and Mexico on their wed ding trip and will make their home in Klamath Falls after November 15. For traveling the bride wore a blue wool sheath dress with matching satin accessories. The bride attended Crater High school. Mr. Hunt is also a graduate of Crater High school and recently complet ed six months active duty in the armed forces. He is pres ently in the Army reserve and is a student at Oregon Tech nical Institute. H. Archer, Mrs. George Morris, Mrs. William Walker and Mrs. Kenneth Lyons were welcomed as new members by the Medford So journers Thursday at Girls Community club. Mrs. James Scarff was present for first time. The next regular meeting of the club will be Thursday, November 3 at 12:30 p.m. at the Girls Community club. The hostesses for the last meeting were Mrs. Fred Dar by, Mrs. Weslie Pearson, Mrs. Henry Miller and Mrs. Otto Stueben. Halloween decora tions of black cats and pump kins were on the dessert table. - An afternoon of cards fol lowed a short business meet ing, with bridge prizes going to Mrs. Elmer Ness and Mrs. B. Torgerson, pinochle to Mrs. Evelyn Hendrick and and Mrs. Jack Brennan and canasta awards to Mrs. A. L, McClure and Mrs. Rosa Au- ten. Mrs. James Scarff re ceived the special award. All women who have lived in Medford or the vicinity two years or less are invited to attend and become mem. bers. SPring 3-3485, for further information. t Westminster Women Name New Officers Mrs. Scott Davis was elect ed president of the Women's Association of the Westmin ster Presbyterian church dur ing their meeting Tuesday. The election was held fol lowing a luncheon at which they were guests of the Wom en's Association of the First Presbyterian church at the First Presbyterian church Other officers elected were Mrs. John Dellenback, first vice president; Mrs. Don Aux- ier, second vice president; Mrs. Walter E. Hersher, secre tary; Mrs. Elbert Lenox, trea surer. The circle leaders for next year were also announced. The,, are Mrs. Ted Hornecker, Elizabeth; Mrs. Ralph E. Hibbs, Martha; Mrs. J. E. Ol- sen, Ruth; and Mrs. Richard Wyatt, Esther. The program theme was the book of the Psalms which the wqjnen of both churches have been studying this year. Each circle from the First church's Women's association participated in the program as did Dr. and Mrs. D. Kirkland West and the Rev. G. Robert Jacks. Mrs. John Seller presetted the devotional program and the luncheon was prepared by the Bethany-Trinity circle and was served by Charity cirjajj; . Court Installs Three Officers Three officers were install ed by Roxy Ann Court, Order of the Amaranth, at a meeting October 20 at the Masonic temple. Howard Gillette was installed as trustee; Hal Bish op, prelate; and Mrs. Carolyn Endris, sentinal. Marshall Day was installing officer; Mrs. Mae Rehart, in stalling marshal; Stanley Jones, marshal's aide; Mrs. Charles Hoppe, musician; and Mrs.. Glenn Linn, secretary. Mrs. Frank Salyers, royal matron, and Marshall Day, royal patron, conducted the meeting. Mrs. Hal Bishop was in charge of refreshments. Mrs. Richard Mayfield is in charge of a series of social nights to be held monthly dur ing the winter. The first was held Saturday evening. Cards and dancing were followed by refreshments. Groups To Plan Veterans Day Plans for "All Veterans Day" will be made at a meet ing of Crater Lake post, Vet erans of Foreign Wars, and auxiliary at 8 p.m. Novem ber 1 at the VFW hall. Frank Glonning, special service officer at the Camp White domiciliary will pre sent a movie, "The Gift You Bring Is You." He will be assisted by Michael Prevost and D.on Anderson.
