Dr. Rowe, who livea with hi? wife, Jean, and their two children at 40 Crater lane, re ceived his doctorate in opto metry in June. He received his bachelor's degree from Pacific univer sity, after taking pre-opto-metry studies at Brlgham Young university and Ven tura Junior college. He is a member of Phi Theta Upsilon national pro fessional optometric frater nity, and has been nominated for membership in the Ore gon Optometric association. Wall Street Chatter New York - (UPl - Despite the discouraging near term prospects of the steel Indus try, National Steel Co. still is regarded as an outstanding holding for long-pull pur poses by the Alexander Ham ilton Institute. 1 The institute points out that National Steel has been the only major steel producer to show a profit in every year since 1929 and has been an outstanding favorite with pri vate' and institutional Invest ors alike throughout its 30' year history. Nation's vigorous expansion program into rich market areas is expected to provide even greater insurance against the cyclical factors constant ly facing the steel industry, the institute says. Bache & Co. reports that Beneficial Finance Co. hasn t given its shareholders much to worry about in the recent market decline, actually mov ing against the tide of late, A possible dividend increase .is in the offing and the stock still appears undervalued, Bache notes. Spears, Leeds & Kellogg believes that the current price lor commercial solvents is a fair evaluation of this year's earnings picture but does not yet reflect the probability of rurtner growth. Martin Gilbert of Van Al- ityne Noel & Co. again would stress that there is no strong fUDDOrt area down to shout the 525 level of the Dow-Jones industrials.
