Frawley, you may recall, played the irascible Fred Mertz in "I Love Lucy." ,And he'd better not hear Local Delegates To Attend Conference The Federal Land Bank as sociation of Medford will send two delegates to a four-state conference of FLBA represen tatives in Spokane, Oct. -25 and 26. A. E. Stevens, association assistant manager, said Albert L. Straus of Gold Hill and William C. Higginbotham of Central Point will attend the Spokane meeting. Straus is president of the association and Higinbotham a director. Stevens said the annual con ference will attract two rep resentatives from each of the 64 federal land bank associa tions in Idaho, Montana, Ore gon, and Washington. The as sociations make and service long-term farm and ranch loans for the Federal Land Bank of Spokane. Addressing the conference will be Robert T. Lister of Prineville, a member of the Federal Farm Credit Board, and Dr. R. R. Renne, presi dent of Montana State college, Bozeman, Mont. . A. Lars Nelson of St. John, Wash., chairman of the dis trict advisory committee, will report on the work of that group, and Fred A. Knutsen, president of the land bank, fyill discuss progress of the bank during the last year. The Medford association makes and services land bank loans in Jackson and Jose phine counties. Park Conference Slated in Salem Salem-Park and recreation supporters and administrators through Oregon will be urged to attend a County Park Con ference in Salem on Nov. 3 according to the state parks and recreation division of the Oregon State Highway De partment. Members of all 36 county courts; county parks and rec r e a t i o n commissions; and county park administrators are invited to attend the one day conference to be held in the state capitol building. Theme of the conference will be "Building A County Park and Recreation Pro gram," and will cover all phases of this theme from or ganization to maintenance. Included among the speak ers are Yamhill County Judge R E. Renne; Robert J. Keen ey, Jackson county P & R commission chairman; Harold Schick, Marion-Polk county regional park director; John Amacher, Douglas county Dark board chairman; stew ard Grenfell, Yamhill county park commission chairman; and Linn county chairman, OfO-irn Shaw.
