He was standing in the lobby of a Washing ton, D.C., hotel one day when a man stepped up to assure him, "1 admire' ' your acting, sir. I intend to see you perform this evening." The sites would be for re tired people who would spend the summer in Oregon and winter in a similar trailer village now under construc tion in Mesa, Ariz., company officials said. A 350 - acre site on t h e Rogue river south of Shady Cove is being considered, they said. Barry Pitts, SOC student body president, announced that the students would also construct a Homecoming float and a large lawn decoration with messages similar to those on the signs, adding that the college student council had combined forces with all the UAL, Capital Merger Approved Chicago - (UPlt - Stockhold ers of United Air Lines and Capital Airlines Friday voted overwhelmingly in favor of a merger of Capital into Uni ted. United stockholders at a special meeting approved the merger proposal 3,291,237 to 35,014. The vote represented more than 80 per cent of the firm's outstanding shares. At the same time, it was an nounced that Capital' stock holders in Washington cast 677,687 shares in favor of the merger. Voting against the proposal were 34,604. SP 3-3011 Pancake Race is Scheduled During Aunt Jemima Feed Jackson county women have been invited to enter the Med ford Lions club's Aunt Jemi ma Pancake race Oct. 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hedrick Junior High school. The race will be part of the pancake feed sponsored by the club. All receipts will go to the youth activities' fund of the club. All contestants' times will be matched against those from the rest of the state, the club said. Winner with the best time in Oregon will be enter ed in the western finals at Disneyland, Calif.
