Speech Clinic Dates Announced Ashland-Dr. Leon Mulling, director of the speech center at Southern- Oregon; college, has announced his diagnostic speech clinic, schedule for the fall quarter., , , ;; He will be in Lekevlew, Oct. 13 and 14 at 9 a.m.; Med- lord, Oct. 20 for- special screening; Prospect, Nov. 10, 9 a.m.; and Butte Falls Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. On Nov. 17 he is scheduled to be at Rogue Riv er at 9 a.m., and Evans Val ley at 1:30 p.m. On Dec. 1 he will be at the Applegate school at 9:30 a.m. Dr. Mull ing believes it is of great val ue for the father to be present at the clinic meetings also . . In addition, Mulling will at tend the American Speech and Hearing association confer ence in Los Angeles during the first week of November and will take an active part in the western Speech asso ciation meeting which will convene in Corvallls Nov. 24 and 25. Nixon's Daughters Give Away Kittens Washington - (UPD - Tricla ! and Julie Nixon, Vice Presi dent Richard M. Nixon's daughters, have finally given , away the last of their six kittens. The snow white, blue-eyed kitten was given Tuesday to Paula Suter, 6, of Baltimore, the United Cerebral Palsy As sociation's 1960 poster girl. Mrs. Pal Nixon promised i Paula nearly a year ago that . she would give her a kitten as soon as the family cat had , a litter.- ' . The kitten was presented Id Its new mistress on the front stops of the Nixon house. Tricla, 14, and Julie, 11, posed on the steps with Paula while photographers took pictures. 'The other five kittens from the litter already have been given away, .but Julie and Trlcia said they couldn't re member who got them. Butler Named to Extension Post Ashland - Laurence Butler, director of the audio visual aids department at Southern Oregon college, has been ap pointed one of three represen tatives of the department of educational media for the gen eral extension division. Butler will serve the south ern part of Oregon and is In terested in helping to develop and budget AV programs, to utilize present equipment, to select additional equipment, increase film usage, and equip new buildings for the best AV utilization. Film rental service from the AVA department is open to anyone, although it is used mostly by schools, churches, clubs, and service organiza tions," Butler said, "and there are materials available for every age level." Butler also will help plan workshop sessions with school committees to utilize the best possible resources and give demonstrations to faculty members as to the use of all AV materials such as projec tors, tape recorders, and flannclboards.
