Central Point Firm Defaults Western Produce company, Ceftral Point, has defaulted on payment of a reparation awarded under the Perish able Agricultural Commodi ties act, the U.S. department of agriculture has announced. The USDA said Western bought fruits and vegetables from Dave C. Bechtel, Med ford, during July and August, 1959, but failed to pay any part of the agreed purchase price of $1,121.87. The company did not an swer the non-payment com plaint filed against it, and the USDA ordered payment of the full amount due, plus interest. The produce-trading license of Western Produce had terminated prior to issuance of the reparation order. The firm can not trade in produce under the act without a li cense, neither can any of the three partners, Theodore H. Brown Sr., Josephine F. Brown and Charles A. Brown. A new license will not be issued to the firm or to the partners until the reparation order is satisfied, the USDA said. The perishable agricultural commodities act establishes a code of good business conduct for the produce ifclustry. As a means of enforcing that code, it requires that inter slate traders in fruits and Qjetables be licensed. It also authorizes the USDA to suspend or revoke a trader's license for violation of the act. ' Chairman Resigns Portland-OIPD-John H.
