Rural firemen attributed a IV2 - acre grass fire on Gibbon rd. shortly after noon yesterday to youngsters playing with matches. ' Car Rolls A car operated by Stanley Keith Scheel, 17, of route 3, Medford, rolled over on Barnett rd. between Murphy rd. and Black Oak dr. about . 8:50 a.m. Monday when Scl:el applied the brakes to avoid a possible col lision. The car received heavy damage, Scheel was not injured and no citations were issued, police said. . - Probation Violation City police arrested LaMarr Ar chie Wilkinson, transient, for probation violation Monday at the request of the Oregon State Parole office. Wilkin son was arrested on a down town street and offered no resistance, police said. He was confined in the county jail. Obituaries JESSE THOMPSON Jesse Orley (Bud) Thomp son, 39, of Belair Trailer court. died last night in a local hos pital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Memorial chapel, North Phoenix rd., with Conger-Morris Funeral home in charge. CLARENCE S. ZEITLER Clarence S. Zeitler, 81, died at his home, 105 North Oak dale ave., Tuesday. Funeral arrangements will be an nounced by Perl Funeral home. JAMES A. MARTIN Funeral services for James Andrew Martin, 79, who died at his home Monday at 400 West Main St., Talent, will be held at Perl Funeral home Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. D. E. Millard will officiate. Committal will be in the An tiock cemetery in Sams Val ley. . Mr. Martin was born Dec. 23, 1880, at Beagle, Ore., and had been a resident of the Talent area for 18 years. Survivors include his wife, Pearl Martin, Talent; four sons, Leo Martin, Ashland: Merrill Martin, Talent, and Loring and Cecil Martin, both of Phoenix; nine grandchil dren and one great-grandchild. MRS. MARY GRIEVE Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Etta Pankey Grieve, 77, of Prospect, who died Tues day, will be held at Perl Funeral home Friday at 3 p.m. The Rev. John Power of Prospect will officiate. Com mittal will be in the Medford Mausoleum. Mrs. Grieve was born May 10, 1883, in Sams Valley, and was a retired postmistress at Prospect, received her educa tion in the Central Point schools and was a 50-year Royal Neighbor member, and a member of the Prospect Lions auxiliary. Survivors include one son, James H. Grieve, Prospect: four sisters, Mrs. Delia Tex, Central Point; Mrs. Minnie Crance, Eagle Point; Mrs. Eth el Tomer, Crescent City, and Mrs. Faye Kain, Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Louis Pankey, Ft. Hall, Idaho; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Postmaster Puzzled; Volunteer Too Late Loveland, Colo. Postmas ter Fred Brewer was puzzled when he received a telephone call from a man who wanted to put in his bid to carry the mail on the star routes to Masonville, Pinewood and Drake. Finally, Brewer had the an swer. The man was a half century too late. The Love land Reporter-Herald had re prointed an advertisement in the paper's column, "50 Years Ago in Loveland."
