Missing NSA Men Said To Have Code Information Washington - (UPD - House Democratic Leader John W. McCormick said today he was informed by "usually reliable sources" that two missing em ployees of the National Se curity agency took with them to Russia "valuable crypto graphic information." McCormick said the loss of the code information "is far more serious than any official has publicly admitted." He urged the House com mittee on Un-American Ac tivities to investigate the mys terious disappearance of the Grange News Central Point Grange The guest speaker for the lecturer's program at Cen tral Point Grange Friday, Sept. 2, will be Harold White of the Jackson County Experiment-station. - The arrangements for the program are being made by the agriculture committee of the Grange. Francis E. Walter (D- Pa.), the committee chairman, said a preliminary inquiry into their disappearance will be made immediately. Involved With Codes McCormick wrote Walter: "It is my understanding that the two employees were in volved with Soviet and other foreign codes and that they know a great deal about the machinery and procedures pertaining to such codes and that their knowledge and ex perience in this highly spe cialized field would be ex tremely valuable to the Krem lin. "There is also the possibili ty, I am toiii, that these two employees were in contact with Soviet agents since last December and could have eas ily turned over valuable in formation to the Communists in Mexico months before they turned up missing. Mitchell and Martin were reported to have gone to Mex ico this summer and boarded a plane there for Cuba.
