up the possibility Monday
when they filed a joint suit
asking $1,040,000 damages
from Billy Martin, Cincinnati
Reds infielder, for his assault
on Brewer, Aug 4 .
There were intimations la
ter that Martin might file a
counter-suit against Brewer

Should he file such a suit, it
was indicated he would have
the full support of the Cincin
nati club, since its general
manager Gabe Paul, said, "Of
course we'll fight it. If the
case comes to trial, there will
be some very interesting de

Brewer was the first ever filed

day's Cubs-Reds game and
wisecracked, "How do they

Olympic village has settled
down to a routine of training
and relaxation.
More than half of the ex
pected 8.000 athletes and of
ficials already are quartered
in the modern village-on-slilts,
