Mars Ion, 72, Spokane, Wash., won the grand award in the senior division in the 74th annual convention and exhibit of the American Philatelic society here Saturday. Marston, retired Army colonel, took top honors for his display of the first issue of Great Britain stamps in 1840. John A. Wruster, 15, Gar den Grove, Calif., who spec ializes in collecting Canadian stamps, won the grand award in the junior division. Sheep Showman Champions Told Ronald Boat, Crater FFA chapter, was judged champion FFA sheep showman during the Jackson County 4-H and FFA fair Friday. Larry Murphy of the Phoe nix chapter, received the re gerve champion's ribbons. Placings in the contest were: Sheep Showmanship Beginning: Larry Murphy, Phoe nix FFA. reserve champion, and blue; Garry Evans, Crater FFA, red; and Steve Andrews, Crater FFA, white. Ribbon Winners Told for FFA Lambs Don Pcstka, Eagle Point FFA chapter, received the grand champion ribbon for his FFA fat lamb in the Jack son county 4-H and FFA fair last week. Terry Payne, Crater FFA chapter, received the reserve grand championship with his fat lamb. Ernie Bolz, Phoenix FFA chapter, had the grand champion pen of three fat lambs. Ernie exhibited South down lambs. Terry Payne, Crater, received reserve grand champion, also, with his pen of three Suffolk lambs. Axil William Raski, 52, Ap- plegate rd., Jacksonville, and his passenger, Emily Mildred Mansfield, 48, route 1, box 180, Talent, were lodged in the county jail for being drunk on a public highway following an accident Friday evening. A vehicle, operated by Raski, collided with a vehicle driven by Willis Gene Hight, 29, of 1341 Iowa St., Ashland. Hight was traveling north on Highway 99 when Raski pull ed out of a private drive into the side of Hight'i vehicle, police said. William Doyle Pennington, 25, of 679 Mae st., Medford, was also lodged in the county Jail for being drunk on a public highway following an accident Saturday morning, according to state police. No injuries, but extensive property damage was report ed when a vehicle driven by William David Barbera, 17, of 75 South Seventh St., Cen tral Point, collided with a vehicle driven by William Richard Snyder, 21, of 343 B st., Ashland. The accident oc curred at about 11:15 p.m., Friday, near the Medtord armory, police said. Ruth L. Blanchard, 39, route 1, box 277, Central Point, and Leon Eugene Blanchard, 51, were Injured and then taken to the Rogue Valley hospital, Friday, fol lowing a single vehicle accident. State police believe that Ruth Blanchard was driving the vehicle on . the Camp White drag strip when the accident occurred. A collision also occurred at 1:45 p.m. Friday on Table Rock rd. about two tenths of mile south of the Orr dr. Junction. Involved were ve hicles driven. by James Ray mond Foster, 34, of 3325 High way 66, Ashland, and Edwin Everett Minick, 86, of 5809 Table Rock rd., Medford. Mrs. Melissa Combcst Cam eron, 74, of 4655 South Pa cific highway, was advised that a complaint would be filed against her for an im proper left turn following an accident, Friday morning, on Highway 99 near Phoenix.
