SUNDAY, JULY 34. 10(10 Improved Library Service to Result From New Program Improved library service to Jackson county residents will result from a program of co operation between the Public Library of Ashland and the Public Library of Medford and Jackson county, Librari an Omar A. Bacon has an nounced. Charges for service by ei ther library are eliminated and borrower's cards will be honored at either library. Be sides this, patrons will be al lowed to return books at ei ther library or its branches at his convenience. Ashland Public Library books will be cataloged and processed by the Public Li brary of Medford and Jack son county as a result of a state grant, which will run for one year only. Significant books will be included in the catalog of both libraries. May Us Either rile ' A library user will be able to tell what the other library has in recent adult books from the use of either file. The centralized processing will save time for the Ashland library staff and will make the cataloging department of the Public Library of Medford and Jackson county more ef ficient. Other cooperative measures Include consultation between the two librarians on the pur- Passenger Traffic Shows Increase ; Passenger traffic at Med' ford's municipal airport dur ing June totaled 5.605, up from last month's 3.017 pas sengers, but below the 6.432 passengers recorded during the same month a year ago, according to the airport man ager's monthly report. Summer Session Is Set in Yreka Area Yreka - Summer sessions scheduled for the Siskiyou county schools through Chlco Slate college have been an nounced by Kenneth G. Young, director of curricu lum. Changes of location are the only major changes from earlier i nformation released by the schools. Each course will carry two units of upper division, resi dent credit with tuition of $20 for cither credit or audit. Lay men, as well as teachers, are invited to attend. Enrollment is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. on the first morning oft each course. In Yreka, clemonliiry school language arts will bo offered Aug. 1 through 12 In the mu sic room of the Jackson si. school. Dr. H. O. Bcldln Is in structor. Children's litornlure will be taught in Weed during the same period by Mrs. Helen Ebert at the College of the Slskiyous. Also nt the college In Weed, methods and mnler lals for teaching health in elementary and secondary schools will be instructed by Dr. Fred Reith. In Ft.
