and carried a bouquet of pink
rosebuds encircling a white
orchid.

ed tho bride. She wore a pale
blue dress and carried pink
rosebuds. Little Cindy Tay
lor, Ashland, niece of the
bridegroom, was flower girl
and Garl Wolff, Medford,
cousin of the bride, was ring
bearer. Cindy also wore a blue
frock.
Rollund Wclburn served as
best man for his brother,
Seating the guests were Allen
Helm, brother of the bride,
and Larry Poling, Medford,
nephew of the bridegroom.
Following the ceremony a
reception was held at the
church.
For traveling the bride
wore a green two-piece dress
with straw accessories.
The bride and bridegroom
attended Talent schools. Mr,
Wclburn is employed by Elk
Lumber company.
Sewing Session
Eleven members of the Col
onel Sargent auxiliary met at
the home of Mrs. James Van
derStcen, 900 Mlra Mar ave
nue, Monday, July 11, for an
all day sewing session. The
members took sack lunches.
Mrs. VanderStcen and Mrs.
Bertha Nelson served salad,
hot rolls and coffee. Two af
ghans were made by the
members for the Veterans
domiciliary, White City.
Mrs. Bigalow Elected
State Auxiliary Head
Mrs. Earl Bigalow, long
time member and officer of
the Medford unit of the
American Legion auxiliary,
was recently Installed as presi
dent of the auxiliary's depart
ment of Oregon. Installation
ceremonies took place at the
closing of the state convention
in Seaside July 8.

auxiliary in 1040 and has held
elective offices of secretary,
treasurer, executive board
member, vice - president and
president. She also has served
In all major chairmanships.
Mrs. Bigalow was eligible for
membership In the group
through the World War II
service of her husband.
In addition to becoming
the first president of district
13, Mrs. Bigalow has served
as department chairman of
Americanism and education
and scholarships. She was ad
vanced this year from the
office of department first vice
president. Other new state officers are
Mrs. Richard Gearhart, Port
land, vice-president; Mrs. R.
Grover Francis, Portland, sec
retary; Mrs. McKinley Kane,
Dundee, treasurer; and Mrs.
Jack George, Eugene, nation
al committcewoman. They
head a membership of 12,000
women in Oregon.

High school, Portland, and
the University of Portland.
He is a fifth grade teacher In
