Manning Parents Announce Engagement News Mr. and Mrs. Francis Wat kins, Wasco, Ore., have an nounced the engagement of their daughter, Phylis, to Del- bert L. Harvey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merlyn Harvey, 613 Newtown avenue. Miss Watkins is a graduate of Northwestern School of Business, Portland. Mr. Har vey was graduated from Mod ern Barber college, Portland, and is presently employed at Davis Ye Olde Clip shop, East Main street The wedding is planned for the Methodist church in The Dalles, Ore., on September 4. Miss Watkins was a house guest of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey the weekend of July Fourth at which time she was honored with a miscellaneous shower given by Mrs. D. M. Blicken ataff and Mrs. J. H. Gregory Job's Daughters Attend Grand Session in Salem More than 200 southern Or egon members of the Interim tional Order of Job's Daugli tcrs attended the 36th annual grand session held in Salem this week end. Grand officers were In stalled Saturday evening with Bethels 14 and 55, Medford, giving the addendum for Mr. Manning. The session opened Thurs day with competitive choral singing, opening ceremonies with all honored queens, prin cesses, junior and senior past honored queens, grand bethel officers and representatives, and grand officers from throughout the state partici pating. Miss Sandra McCul- loch, Coos Bay, state honored queen, presided. Activities Friday activities included a meeting of the grand bethel with Gov. Mark O. Hatfield welcoming the delegates, a tour of the state house, a pic nic and swim party at Para dise Island park followed by a formal banquet that evening at the Marion hotel and in stallation of grand bethel of ficers and formal dance. Mem bers of the De Molay were escorts. Saturday's events included daughter's breakfast and style show at Meier and Frank, bowling, and the an nual competitive drills. The session will end with worship services this morning at the Presbyterian church in Salem. Visits Father Applegate Valley - Miss Janice Poole, Crescent City, Calif., is a guest at the home of her father, Mel Pool of Up per Applegate. Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Pool, Oceanside, Calif., also are guests at the Pool residents. Collins, 2224 East Main street, Medford. The rites were held June 25 in San Leandro at the All Saints Episcopal church with the Rev. John Praed, canon pastor of Grace Cathedral, San Fran cisco, officiating. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Ruby M. West, Monte bello, Calif. About 75 relatives and friends attended the two o'clock afternoon wedding. Music by Bach was played. The bride wore a floor length gown fashioned with lace bodice and net skirt. The bodice was styled with scoop neckline and long sleeves. She carried an all-white bouquet. Her father escorted her to the altar. Miss Althea Sayward, San Leandro. a former roommate of the bride, was maid of hon or. She wore a pale green gown. Kent Bonney, Daly City, Calif., served as best man for his brother-in-law and ushers were Richard Stuart, Diablo, Calif., a former Medford res ident; Richard Lingenfeltcr, Alamo, Calif.; Thomas Lyson, Livermore, Calif.; Thomas Parks, San Leandro; and George Patraw, Livermore. A reception for the newly weds followed in the church reception hall. For the occa sion the bride's mother wore a rose pink silk organza dress and a corsage of pink minia ture yellow roses. The bride groom's mother wore a dress of tan silk organza and a cor sage of miniature yellow roses. Relatives of the bridegroom who attended the wedding, in addition to those in the wed ding party, included the Misses Margaret and Miriam Collins, aunts, San Diego; Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Collins, uncle and aunt, San Diego; and Dr. and Mrs. Curtis Swavey, cousins, Aptos, Calif. Also attending were the bride's brother, David West, Belmont, Calif., and other rel atives. The bride received her bachelor's degree from Whit tier college and her master of education degree from Mills college. She is a teacher in the San Leandro Unified School district. The bridegroom is a grad uate of Medford High school and California Institute of Technology. He is a mechan ical engineer with Lawrence Radiation laboratory, San Le andro. They traveled to Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, on their honeymoon and are ex pected to visit with friends and relatives in the valley late in August. Frederick Evans reading the double-ring serv ice. He also served commun ion after the rites. The bride, whose father gave her in marriage, wore a gown of white sand crepe, ballerina length, styled with a bouffant skirt. She wore a shoulder-length veil and car ried a fan-shaped bouquet of talisman roses and white shat tered carnations. Mrs. Stephen S. Parrish, Ashland, a cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a turquoise sheath dress with matching hat and car ried a bouquet of blue del phiniums and white daisies. H. Wayne Gibbens, brother of the bridegroom, Milwau- kie, Ore., was best man and Mr. Parrish seated guests. Coral gladioli and white Ester Reed daisies decorated the church. Mrs. Clifton Stout, Inglewood, Calif., the bride groom's sister, was organist. The bride's parents were hosts for a dinner at their home following the wedding. The bride, a graduate of Medford High school in 195S, is a student at the University of Oregon. The bridegroom, a graduate of South Salem High school in 1958, attend ed Willamette university and is now a student at the Uni versity of Oregon.
