Crone Prairie reservoir continues to pro duce catches in the tributary channels. Diamond Inkc Is fair with fish up to 5i pounds. Lake of the Woods is good, mostly kokanec, and with some rainbow up to 'i'i pounds. Fnurmlle lake has Improved for small rainbow and eastern brook up to 13 Inches. Kurz in Saturday Auto Races at Ashland Oval Lou Kurz, well known lor his auto racing exploits In this area, will make his first uppcaranco of the season at Ashland this Saturday night. Another evening of super modified racing is scheduled at Ashlund Speedway. Kurz has been racing at Redding, Calif., this season. His auto sports a Ford engine and a new paint job and runs as well as It looks. He was winner of a number of events last week end at Redding. Lou is familiar with the Ash land oval and Ls figured as a strong contender for top hon ors. This week's races will have more cars than In previous races this year. Promoter Jack McCoy has reported that there will be much bettor or ganization to run the show off with speed and smooth ness. Mora Intartsi Super-modifieds have cre ated more interest in racing In this area than has been shown for a considerable period. Lenient rules permit car builders and sponsors to use their imagination and what equipment is readily available to them. These are not the restrictions of past seasons. A good number of cars, consequently are under construction. Several are to be ready for this Saturday's program. McCoy has Indicated that the $1,000 guaranteed purse posted at the Ashland track is attracting the fastest of the modlfieds to compete here. Up until now, the out-of-town drivers have done most of the winning and are expected to continue to return. Nick Porter, Redding, past winner here and member of the popular Porter racing team, is to have a brand new Thundcrbird engine installed In his car In time for Satur day's event. Time trials are set for T p.m. and the first race at 8 p.m. .
